my gf is 45 and i can go in the room when she's there.  actually my dentist doesn really have rooms more like open spaces with walls.  my daughter was 18 when she had her wisdom teeth taken out.  i was there the whole time.

if the doctor wont let you in with our child or he insists on you having to sign a paper before he does any work, walk out the door.

i went to one dentist who insisted on having me sign a waiver saying if there was any problems i had to go to mediation.  when i he wouldnt see me because i didnt sign it, I walked out the door.

my current dentist while not inexpensive, i trust.  he's done about 30k dollars worth of work on m3, my kids and my gf over the past 5 or 6 years.  he's written off a couple of thousand dollars off from my own work.  and i always refer people to him.  and I tell them the same thing.  trust is worth the money you spend.

The picture of her lower incisors do not show gross caries present when you zoom in. How recent is that picture?
You said the Dentist did not take any pre-op x-rays (before any work was performed)? That
Seems very strange. When she chipped her upper incisors, did the lowers incisors suffer any trauma?

I would definitely get a second opinion from a recommended Pedodontist. You may want to consult with two or
Three and find out what your options are for replacing those anti esthetic stainless steel crowns. She won't start to lose her primary teeth until she is four or five years old. That is a long time.

Did they restrain your daughter?  Did they use nitrous oxide?
When you go for your second opinion, be prepared! They are going to ask lots of questions.

Something that the next dentist is going to ask:
Does your daughter still drink from the baby bottle?
Does she drink a bottle before going to sleep at night?
Who brushes her teeth?

Good luck.

Call the medical board for your state to see if this dentist is licensed and also to see if he has a complaint history. once you get your ducks in a row  make your complaint on his conduct and unneccesary work performed.

the first pic is less than a week ago before she went to the tard, we took the pic of them last night.  as far as her lower teeth being hit, I dont believe so, he told my wife she had a small cavity forming on her lower front, but I aint no dentist but a small cavity doesnt need a friggin crown.  if he did say he was going to do something to them he sure didnt say that this would be the end result.

A small cavity would require a small filling. Contact the state dental board. They will ask for a copy of all x-rays and he has to comply. If he runs an office that does not maintain accurate records including pre-op x rays and/or photographs they may suspend his license until this matter has been resolved. Ask your insurance company to stop payment on her treatment. That puts the insurance company on notice that something is wrong in this office. There may be similar disputes from this office that warrant further investigation.

Good luck

I had some pain from my back tooth last weekend.  I call Monday morning, and they say come in at 1:30pm the same day.  The doc looks around and sees a crack in my tooth.  he says it needs a crown or pulled.  Crown is 325, or 50 bucks after insurance.  I say crown it.  They make an appointment me to come in two days later.  He grinds that tooth down (not pleasant) and makes like 5 molds of my tooth.  After he gets through grinding my tooth down to a nub, he puts a  temporary cap on it.  I go back on the 29th to get the permanent cap.  How I knew somthing was wrong?  Every time I ate or drank something hot or cold, it hurt like a sob.

Dont know if this guy still practices but he used to be the best around for dental malpractice. Have not talked to him for years but he is an obtuse, aggressive dude.

The other day, the first thing they did was do an xray.  I stood up next to a machine, and it did a 180 scan of my grill.  A few moments later, I was sitting in the exam chair with a flat screen in front of my face with the 180 xray view of my grill.  I pointed to the tooth that was hurting, and she said 'huh" maybe the doc will see something.  He did....

Before you take up plastic surgery via crowbar, let's eliminate every possibility of you or your wife making a mistake.

1.) Get a copy of everything that you signed.  Review it carefully with an attorney.
2.) Get plenty of pictures of her mouth from before the operation, both on a regular camera and x-rays.
3.) Do the same for after.
4.) Go to the best dentist that you can find, and have him look over the papers and pictures to see if the dentist who performed the procedure had the right to (see step 1)

While doing this, don't freak out around her.  Just go about your business as usual as best you can.  Once you've cleared yourselves of blame, then get that same attorney to sue that dentist and/or chain for everything they're worth.  Once the battle is over, get your daughter's mind checked to see if she's traumatized, and get care (therapy, meds, a big honking chocolate bar) if she needs it.  All the while, make sure to not work as hard on other projects, and leave yourself time to relax so that you can focus on getting the legal stuff done slowly and deliberately.  If all goes well and you win the suit, stash the money in her college fund so that she'll have some catharsis for what she's been through (don't mention to her too early, though).

You should file a complaint with your states'  State Board of Dental Examiners.

Also doc should have ALL procedures listed and signed off on and written consent given. Verbal doesn't cut it.
