King Tiger or Tiger Royal
« on: February 19, 2012, 06:27:21 PM »
I'm not much of a tank guy, but have recently been getting into it.

While reading literature I've seen references to a "King Tiger" as well as a "Tiger Royal".

My question is this: Are these two terms for the same type of machine? And if not, what are the differences?

Same vehicle. The official German designation was Panzerkampfwagen Tiger Ausf. B, but it had many nicknames on both sides of the front line: Tiger II, Königstiger, King Tiger, Royal Tiger...
No gods or kings. Only Predator.

From what I understand, Americans mostly said King Tiger, brits said Royal Tiger, and both said Tiger II.
You started this thread and it was obviously about your want and desire in spite of your use of 'we' and Google.

From what I understand, Americans mostly said King Tiger, brits said Royal Tiger, and both countries infantry said "Oh #&@# Run!".

Was that because of the Metric System or just because Samuel L. Jackson's wallet says "Bad Motheruplifter" on it?
