More interest/numbers in the arena, itself, to lead HT & Co. to believe it'll bring in more revenue if they devote time to modeling more aircraft, some vehicles and terrain features?

Having said that .... I think 5 basic elements would make the WWI arena more interesting ... possibly drawing more participation:

2 ground vehicles:

2 heavies:

A static terrain with entrenched no-man's land that offers static infantry as targets for bombing and strafing ('object score' for such horrific bloodshed).

The element of base capture may not be that big a deal, but the feel of flying over no man's land with a battle about to begin any second - troops taking pot shots when threading between legitimate AA - no safe place to land in that area .... would be more immersive.

+1, i've been wanting to see some gvs put in the ww1 arena, like the first tanks, and stuff, and bombers are needed as well, i especially liked those big twin engine ones earlier in this thread.

I would settle for one on these caproni giant bombers..I reckon shooting one of those alone in a fighter won't be easy!

You need a couple bombers, a Zeplin, and targets on the ground. Once you have those you could see some action.

I think there should also be AI involved with the ground troops.
