Ranger when you and I were in they had respect for anyone in uniform, nowadays some people just have no respect for anyone but themselves.

BTW if you happen to see any current member of the military in a restaurant or fast food place inform him his money is no good there and splurge for him or her.

This is true however there are still many of us folks who have the utmost respect for those who serve.

Picking up a service person's tab is gratifying and a nice small token of gratitude. Short of that a hanshake and a thank you for serving go a long way.

I really hate to see people act like sweetheartbags for any reason, ebfd11, but if you go back to the part in bold, had anything happened, you would or could have been charged with not only assault with a deadly weapon, but also inciting a riot. You would not have wanted to be around when the Statie's showed up.

This is only true in Commiefornia.  Most other states would look at ebfd as a good samaritan and let it slide, as long as he didn't tire thump someone first.

Being Ex Army that never got past Basic training , but am still proud of what I did . Thank you for standing with the tech SGT . Too many don't as you can tell .  We need more people to back up our troops even when not in conflict They did their service and should be thanked properly ! Just MY opinion .

Great story! Way to keep a level head and do the right thing. Cudos to the guys who answered the call.

The best part of the story is you can substitute "thug" for "vTard" and it still works perfectly.

There always has to be the one person to try and throw us under the bus. All the members in my squad support the Armed Forces very much. Fly with us before you bash us.

Im glad to see the truckers sticking together. They do that a lot down here in Ga.

Wow, that went over pretty darn well.  Good work!  Would you have done it had been one of them?  I can't think of a moral argument against doing so.  Be careful with words like trash and dirtbag- they can lead to attitudes that create more conflicts in the first place, and people aren't one dimensional, either.  Treat them like people and often reciprocate.  This near tragedy is certainly an exception, though.

You really shouldn't start talking for LEO's, you don't seem to have much of a position to stand on. As a retired Leo and troop I'd say that your premise is flawed. Failure to act in this case is as much of a faliure to honor as spitting on a troop AFAIAC. You can stand outside there.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."
