I never fell for it, as I knew what it's function was before I even downloaded the game in Tour 27.    Keep trying to justify it though.

Sounds like you are being defensive mr "tour 27".

Its a rite of passage, and has always been - the ones who reject it probably fell for it, instead of having a laugh they whine on a bulletin board.

First, I never fell for it. I'm the kinda guy that hangs out in the background soaking up ALL the information. I see EVERYTHING...ask my kids  :devil

While not on the same scale ALT F4 is the same stuff that the "clowns" do to other kids in school just for laughs. Of course they are not laughing as much at the candle light vigils they hold after the kid they kept laughing at lets off a little steam with a .22, .38, or .45 at school. This game is hard enough to learn with out a bunch of snot-nosed kids doing stupid crap just for a laugh at someone else expense.

time to "grow up" Francis

Alt/F4 was old hat in 1995.

Only noobs and the ignorant suggest it in the arena.

Alt + F4 to join my plane.

Alt + F4 to drop troops.

Typical response from somebody trying to make excuses for being a jerk.  The "Make the objectors out to be losers." method of defense is most often false.

The fact is that most of us saying the juvenile prank is bad for the game never had it happen as most of were well aware of what Alt-F4 did years prior to Aces High existing.  I expect that most of us never even received the Alt-F4 advice, at least I certainly never did.

Instead of justifying being a jerk, consider that by being a jerk you make the game a hostile environment to people who are often inexperienced with MMOs.  At least some portion of the new players who are given and take that Alt-F4 advice never even bother to log back in.  Those were potential customers that HTC will never have a chance with again because some jerk thought getting his rocks off by being a love muffin was more important that civility.  Remember what your mother likely told you, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."

With all the nasty stuff that is said on 200 in PM's and on the boards you guys are going to worry about the Alt-F4 deal? heheheheh When I first came to AH from AW I was almost in shock of what I saw on the general text channel. And I'm still here. If people dont have the determination to get past an Alt/F4 prank I would think virtual air combat probably aint for them.

Glad to see your worried about someone else's buisness.

Every person who fell victim to Alt + F4 usually logged right back in with choice things to say, but then a month later that same " victim " told a new player the same exact thing. Nohing bad happened from it.

Nice to see people confusing harmless game pranks with real world.....Nice!

There is no confusion on my end, though you seem to be a bit befuddled.  Perhaps you'd like to ask HiTech his opinion on it and see if he thinks it is harmless to drive off a portion of the people who try his game.

The subject at hand was harmless and didn't cause people to stop playing this game.

I can look up several other topics on here that drive more people away than Alt + F4.

"I", therefore "you" is the worst kind of assumption.  Just because it didn't pizz you off enough to leave doesn't make it ok to do.  I think HiTech allowed the Richard Craniums to roam the school hallways long enough as it is...I think it's funny that so many people want to do it...its boorish and smacks of intellectual vacancy.

Friends?

Alt F4 creates a bigger reaction on the forum than in the game.  As usual.
If I had a gun with 3 bullets and I was locked in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, Saddam and Zipp...  I would shoot Zipp 3 times.
