Grab a SSD (solid state drive). They have many advantages over the old standard drives (no moving parts, higher shock resistance, no vibration/noise, less power usage, speed, but capacity is somewhat limited). Yes they do cost a few more bucks, but well worth the extra $100-200 in my opinion. I just bought my first one about 2 months ago. I can't believe how fast they are. However, I haven't heard if they have a higher failure rate when compared to the standard HD.
