Terrains
« on: March 13, 2012, 10:06:10 PM »
I noticed .fla and .pln extensions on some of my terrain files since I have been on line and some features act different on some terrains like not being able to end sortie until aircraft has landed or stopped. is this normal? Also, I tried to download a germany file and it didnot seem to load correctly, Just curious.

You always have to be stopped to end a sortie.  The files you refer to are used when you are online and not when offline.  The *.fla file contains information about the fields that cannot be captured.

The *.pln files contain what planes are enabled at the fields of the terrain.
The *.fld files contain the actual field information for each terrain.

There is an arena setting that can be adjusted in special events, custom arenas and offline, called "ExitWhileMoving" where you can set the flags for what is allowed when exiting. Typically it's set to only allow ending a sortie while moving if you're in a chute, otherwise you must be stopped to end sortie.
