I might add, that I don't remember anything about "anonymity" in that book. It has been a long time, so correct me how im missing that bit, if so.

If you recall the painting of the faces.  It allowed them to conceal themselves behind a veil and therefore release what they truly were unconstrained by norms.

I must read it again, its been a long time.

I always thought that despite the painted faces they still were able to recognise eachother (somewhat) though and considered it more of an attempt at a collective identity to who *is* and who *isnt*, sort of like the insignias on our beloved planes for respective nationalities.

The key there was they could recognize each other.  However, the painting of the face Became a placebo mask. I last read it in 1987 so i also could be misinterpreting  I am an engineer by the heavens not some turtle neck wearing literature dude after all.

I hate window maintenance. Scraping and repainting the frames... And I REALLY hate cleaning the outsides of those second story windows.

Very dark book as well but the book was much more about the psychosis of the adrenalin addiction associated with risky behavior.  Still a great flick man.  I bet I watched that movie 100 times as a kid.

How good is Debrody on a scale from 1-10?

imho 7...

Bruv 8, Grizz 8, Kazaa and Leviathn possibly 9 (not sure though).  No 10s yet.

btw... I'm a 4 on my scale. :)

I've seen him a couple of times and got really impressed.

He is very good... fights really well.  He landed 17 in his G6 yesterday.  Landed 10 without rearm in the G6 the other day.  <3 Debrody.... good teacher too.  :aok SA not as good as Bruv though, imho, but few are.
