is range text limited to where you took off from?

is it true you can only type on range and only people who upped from the same field as you will see it?

bummer I was hoping it worked like vox and you could talk to anyone within a certain distance.

Interestingly, it's still explained in a contradicting, not to say: incorrect way on that page. "This channel sends messages only to those who are nearby." should simply be eliminated from that explanation.

Well its funny, today I wondered about this - Redbull was over 40 miles away from me - I was over 216 hunting down the SW guys, and I kept reading his "range" text.

Im like what the hell? nobody is even in my sector.

The confusion will really get funny when players are defending an airfield while  others from the same base attack a different one:
 "Tiger in town!" - Where, I can't find him? - Just next to the maproom! - Dude, there is nothing at the maproom! - Are you blind? Just where the smoke is!!! - WTF? Smoke? WHAT SMOKE???!  :banana:  :D

'd be willing to say that the "range/room" chat is for ANYONE within 6000 yards (slightly more, actually).  It has nothing to do with where you upped from.  Stop and think about it.  Just how far away has a player flown in bombers or a long range fighters and STILL been able to talk on range vox???

It has nothing to do with where you upped, but rather who is within range of you.  There may be a glitch of some sort that allows 2 players to keep a line open once the typical range is exceeded, but I'm not recalling that ever happening to me.

Range vox = those within range, NOT those only from same spawn point.   :aok
