I remember joining e-trade at one time.

I got a call from one of their people saying they had a $500 minimum needed in the account, leading me to believe that they were in the "interest" business.

Find a REAL broker you trust that has a quantifiable track record with a reputable brokerage house.  He/She will help you to start slow and deversify.

All brokers will have a minimum account balance required, if it's margin account minimum might be $20,000 plus.

I've used Sharebuilder as well, don't have much in there now.

Made a good deal off Ford a few years ago.  :aok

I make no monthly payments and am not aware of any minimum amount.  I've just do a fee per trade because I would rather hold them a long time.

I'm not a big volume technical day trader, so I find a Charles Schwab account and a IBD subscription does me just fine.  Did take a look at the finwiz site and have to agree that is a good one - I love having plenty of insider trading info.

There is many sites. Mourning star , bloomberg is a couple. I think even MSN you can use your MS email account login and password and track a few companies. There is pay for sites and then there is the software like worden brothers for tracking stock and also many other features.

Just checked, MSN has  portfolio manager and I would think Yahoo would also, just google and start looking.
