Sorry Dover, but chances are highly likely it will be a no. HTC have said that they won't add variants that were field mods, which is what the Doolittle B-25's were. They were very much modified, and therefore will most likely never be added. If they did add field-mod variants, I'd be asking for the over 9,000 variants of Bf-109's.

It never hurts to air your idea. Better than having a great idea that never sees the light of day.

Why are you flaming him? He doesn't need that. A simple "No" would suffice. If someone posts something you don't agree with, there is no need to be a turd.

Unfortunately we dont have the correct model B25,IIRC they used "C" model B25's and we dont have 1.

However usually on the aniversery of the Doolittle raid the event is recreated in 1 of the SEA arenas so knock yourself out and join the event.

It was the b model. If you are also vDover in the game I can't say I'm suprised.

When you get the email address you can ask if it was really aircraft #40-2344 or if that's just an elaborate practical joke.

I'm against the idea. If a bird can not fit underneath the flight deck it has no buisness on the carrier. Sure the B-25s took off, but they couldn't land and they'd never take off from a carrier AGAIN. Same thing with all of the P-47s, they were loaded on by crane they could take off but didn't have a tail hook therefore they're invalid aswell.

Here's my two cents

If the wings don't fold, it has no tail hook, and it can't fit beneath the flight deck, it has no buisness.

I'd love the Doolittle idea, but it would be abused and incorrect.

yes i can see now people complaining about any bomber coming of a carrier but if you do it like doolittle did it historically accurate and useful
they made alot of mods to the aircraft to make it do this one of which was changing its defenses by removing some of the guns

now i can see people complaining about having bomber runs off of carriers but still its something they did and AH always says they are seeking historical accuracy

HTC said that they will never add field mods.. whats that? is a plane that was modified as originally it came out from the factory... why we have the me-163? cuz they liked it and was added like he was in the start, no field mods... the B25 never came out from the factorys as carrier plane so u'll never see it like one in here.

Is just easy as that, try to think a lil before posting another "reason" to add it.

Been asked for before over the years & it has not happened yet I doubt it will happen now.
When the B-25 first came out you could up off of a CV the practice was pointless though with all the late war aircraft just waiting out of the CV ack for them to come ashore most people just stopped upping.
i remember 1 time while back in ma b25 were enabled off cvs only for
1 day.

The two main reasons it won't work in AH, #1- There is no 40Kt wind to take off in, #2- with only "deck" storage area, they only had 40% of the carrier deck left for takeoffs. It was the "B" model and was not a standard issue B-25B! From what I have seen in my short time playing this game, Aces High only uses the most common variant of a particular aircraft, not any which had modifications to them.
Blue Skies and wind at my back and wish that for all!!!

If you set up a custom arena you can enable the B-25 for CVs and you can set a 40 knot wind.  :aok
