I mostly fly the Dora.  Its a monster in a low level fur ball so long as you keep your speed up and confine your attacks to deflection shooting targets of opportunity.  Avoid turning with opponents for any length of time.  Attack, reposition, and repeat.

Bombers are much harder to deal with as radiator hits are inevitable.  Learn how to dead-stick land.

Sorry Sir, that kind of advice is just plainly unacceptable.

Will ask RedBull to post a film here about some 190 action.

Hmmm?  Sorry, what's unacceptable about it?

I DAed Irishone's 190A5's a few times. His style is more turning and forcing overshoots and mine was more of keeping my E and forcing the other to burn his. I won whenever I took it vertical and he won whenever he took it into a TnB fight.

The A5's stall fight very smoothly but don't expect to do well against the dedicated TnB birds. Once you take it vertical, the rudder can force it to kick over and drop down quickly.

the game is concentrated on combat, not on shaking the screen.

Debrody asked me to post a few of our 190A5 fights in here, so here they are

http://www.4shared.com/file/f9s91_IO/Debrody_A5.html?
http://www.4shared.com/file/zFUXCcqs/Debrody_A5_again.html?

And in this one I have to say, I do believe this is the longest fight I have ever had 1v1... big  :salute Debrody GK
http://www.4shared.com/file/c7yXj9V9/A5_Debrody_long.html?

Anyway, 190's are all about angles...angles angles angles! Something I'm obviously not too good at  :lol

i am looking for an expert at the 190 for some training over the basics of the aircraft post here or message 1nagel ingame.

Regardless of some folk's success, the 190 series of aircraft were never meant for dogfighting.  Some here do OK with it in that role, but it was never built for that purpose.

Hence the name Wurger or Butcher Bird.

Cute fellow, eh?  Until he impales your arse on a spike to save you for a snack later.   :O

It's main goal was to be a killer of bombers, especially later in the war.  It was designed to kill, quickly and efficiently, period.

It has been used with some success as a turnfighter by some folks, but that is not its strong suit.

Stay fast.

Use it's superior roll rate to scissor out of most situations or to achieve a reversal.

Zoom climb.

If low and slow on the deck, you are doing it wrong.

Watch the snaproll in the A5, it can get you out of a crappy situation or put you into the ground with the greatest of ease.

The in-line engine 190's are prone to radiator hits.  Never saddle up on a bombers' 6, you will get a hole in your radiator.

Choose your target carefully.

Know your ingress and egress strategies well beforehand.

When you attack, hit hard and fast.

Expect whines and accusations of being a "picker".  Embrace them because it means that you are doing something right.  The more they whine, the more proficient you are becoming.  It's not your fault that they weren't paying attention.

Just like a screwdriver could be used as a hammer in a pinch, even successfully at times, doesn't mean that it is the right tool for the job.  Although it can be fun and entertaining to get down and dirty in a 190 and even possible to achieve a modicum of success while doing it, it is an E-fighter by design.  It is a BnZ plane by design.

It is a killer.

Has anyone noticed just how stable a 190 is in the roll department? especially rolling slow, so precise. Its almost like the plane has a skewer stuck right along the length of the plane from the tail it rotates on! Is there another plane in this game with the same attributes? :old:

Have to agree.  Fly a 190 for a couple missions and everything else rolls like an ocean liner.

Missed this, personally, I dont think there is another plane in the game with this skewer feeling of roll its the one really distinct attribute of a d9, even an A5 maybe because of the radial doesnt feel like this. Spit16 has a very snappy roll rate but still tends to need more input on the elevators to form a vertical manevour. Maybe its a difference in the wings?

No 190 handles slow better than a 152. You can stop the plane on a dime force the over shoot.

I really tryed to make the 152 dance, ended up sliding upside down every single time i tryed to turn and roll at the same time. Reduced fuel load helps a bit, its still pretty bad.
I luv that plane but hate its handling. You could figure it out, heck, thats pretty enviable.

Then proceed to flop to the ground in a flat spin...(that's how I normally end up)
