Why in gods name would you want to see MORE noobs and skilless pilots trolling around in packs with spitfires, and with spitfires that would warrant a perk price as well?
You started this thread and it was obviously about your want and desire in spite of your use of 'we' and Google.

That's the whine of a Luftwabble.  Just because you don't like RAF birds doesn't mean they're bad.  Luftwhiners just don't like to see birds that can take em down :aok

Lol, for once I didn't mean to insult the spitfire, and people take it in a way that does  :lol.

What I mean is that the spitfire has a high noob to vet ratio, which is undeniable, but it does not get ALL of the noob attention; two slow for some. If we gave it increased speed, there would be no down side to push noobs away from it, and hence it would likely account for almost all sorties of almost all noob pilots, as opposed to what I would guess is 60% of sorties for 70% percent of the total noob poplulation.

Yeah but us Spitfire historian types have been apologizing for it back in Airwarror and in AH.  No more!  I love that plane :)

There is no need to push noobs away from it, as it is what it was.  An easy to fly, forgiving airplane that did a lot of things well.  I'd still rather run into Spits then guys who won't stick around and fight :aok

Nope.  The P-51, F4U and Bf109 would always have there share.  Have you looked at the usage numbers lately?  The P-51D is approaching three times the usage of the Spitfire Mk XVI, yet all one hears is whines about the Spitfires.  That schtick is getting really old.

P-51, Spit 16 and La7, Fw190d9 always get tagged - mainly due to "lack" of experience flying it, nothing has ever changed. Frankly the ones who whined are the ones who get Ho'd instead of avoiding it - and whine.

Frankly they are nothing more then targets to me, I can think of VERY few standout sticks in those 4 planes, and I could probably count them all on one hand.

I like all of those planes and I think they find favor with others simply because they all fly well and go really fast.
I rather like the spit too and consider it to be among the easiest planes to fly in aces high.  My first impression flying the spit (I avoided it for the first year or two due to the dweebery stuff) was that it flew exactly the way I wanted it to fly.
If I had a gun with 3 bullets and I was locked in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, Saddam and Zipp...  I would shoot Zipp 3 times.

The E-7 would be a nice addition. The E-3 wouldn't give us anything different then the E-4

I don't like the idea of people with perks being able to buy an uprated engine or better fuel. It is hard enough for newbies as it is in this game and knowing that the better pilots also have better planes would be a real turnoff for them. It would also be too unbalancing in favour of the Allied planeset.

Besides, what's wrong with the Tempest for running down 190s and 109s?

this

the 51/Dora runners are far worse for me then the spits - at least a spit will turn into a fight and tak it low and slow with confidence then take the HO, break up for the rope, and when those two moves fail, dive down for the pick and 'extend' out to repeat the process.  That kind of fighting forces a pilot to either break and go look for another fight or get a plane that can keep up (of which there are 2 other then the 51 - the dora and the k4 <and la7 if they take it to very low>).  When I get a 51 to roll with me, I a cheering inside because either 1) this guy is good or 2) this guy is trying to become better.  I know some pilots fly for score, and that is really a shame.

I personally don't feel the spit14 needs the perk - but considering how people fly the 51/Dora, I am afraid it would just be used as one of those sorts of planes.

Tempest works just fine catching runners, the other day I was chasing down a Fw190d9, I was doing 405mph at 2.9k with wep on, the Dora must of burned off his wep because I closed from 1.2k to 400 before he tried to jynx in which i slammed on the breaks and put a burst into him.

Although most won't spent 60 perks, I think its well worth the perk value :)
