Looks like it's missing the drive shaft! :devil

In the video, looks like the drive shaft was twisted and rewelded back together

In the closer picture, i swear it looks like copper line or brass couplings used for a brake line. Thought it should be steel

it does, it does.....that is a previous repair that i had just disconnected, in the process of removing the line......but look closely at the repair method.

i should have also clarified that these are 2 different vehicles. the still pic is a mercury sable. the video is a dodge ramcharger 4x4

you're right. the owner says he has no clue what happened. his exhaust had been hanging off of the muffler outlet. i think that possibly he managed tp get that wrapped around the shaft, and that bent the crap outta it. he's still driving that. i tried to tell him it's not safe to drive like that(in my humble opinion), and that that would in short order, tear the hell out of the rear, and the transfer case.

those couplings are illegal, and seriously unsafe..........

while i spent 12 years working at a shop that had post and above ground......i'll take a post lift any day. they go up faster, they're more steady, they take up less room, and in my case, they're already there when i moved into this place. i have a 2 post lift in the first bay. although it's rated for 9,000 pounds, i had an e250 on it.......i will not do that again. my post lifts, which have the same rating i believe hold that same e250 rock steady.

i gotta admit though....when doing transmissions or exhaust work, i DEFINITELY like the 2 post.

Cap,

those are brakelines?? wow I thought someone botched a fuel line repair,I cant believe someone actually tried to repair brake lines like that! I'm surprised the lines didn't blow or have a severe leak.

Was there even a double flair used??

Really?  after inspecting the pic abit more I notice a compression fitting on the copper line. They barely work with 40lbs water presure...... :rofl :rofl :rofl

But hey in a pinch,I might start carrying some fittings and soft copper, never know when you need to repair a brakeline on the side of the road! :aok
