That's a good thing, I was cruising my 262 around 15-20k and never seen enemy fighters until the very end, most were either above the Ozone layer - not to mention for the third time now they ran bombers NOE and unescorted (even after a few restrictions were placed on the 262s).

This surprised me based on the first coordination frame, secondly the allied Jabos had no fighter escort what so ever and coming in at 10k, however spits were coming in from 28k and tempests.

Shooting birds gets you nothing. The whole frame was targets :)

Stats are up. Looks like the allies pretty much got spanked. No wonder I ran into a full strength squadron at the end of the frame.

I know that the group of 51s I flew with were no help at all. The group leader stated before we even took off that his main goal was to just survive because he hated GVing  . Out of the 9 pilots in our group, not 1 P-51 got a single kill although on two separate occasions I had 3 190s engaged on the deck ripe for the pickin'.

I really wish that the guys afraid to fight in a P51 would just stay out of them. All they do is give a great aircraft a bad rep.  :old:

I agree, I should of been bounced by 4 of the P-51s over A40, I had my jet turning under 400mph and turn fighting when wave after P-47's and P-51's were just augering into the town. When I started going after a heavy set of P-38s there were 20k P-51s and
none of them bothered to even make a pass on me.

I think people got discouraged, I was hearing the allies put up a pretty bad beating on the luftwaffe over 109, we held firm over A40 though.

My biggest mistake was not keeping an eye on my fuel, I kept race tracking at full power around 15k, the allies did knock out 3 of the 4 targets, however the main objective to secure A40 was not done.

My biggest mistake was diving into the hornets nest at forty and holding my eggs. I should've let em fly on the first pass and extend a bit but I held them to line up a better run. On the second pass, I was too slow and wound up with 4 red guys behind me. One being a 262. Had no hope of escape at that point.
