"In 1942, the US government acquired the town of Oak Ridge in eastern Tennessee. From then on, Oak Ridge was just like any other town — except for the fences, the guards, and the top-secret uranium separating facility."

Looks like a nuclear symbol thingy thang.

I was thinking the moon thing too but I think it has something to do with nuclear weapons and with the eclipse and end of times or something.

The actual symbolism behind that is a little eerie...

I see The Sun, the Earth then the Moon depicting a total Lunar Eclipse.  Also showing is the launch of an object from the Earth, using gravity as a slingshot to land on the Moon during this Total Eclipse.

As to the compas on the Sun and Moon and the galactic north directions, I don't have a clue on this aspect of the graphic; nor does the smiley Sun strike any chords with me.

...but with the little bit of conspiracy theory reading I've done, it seems more a joke than anything and possibly not authentic, and points to the Lunar landing being faked as part of a conspiracy for greater security.  Or possibly a mention to the belief there are alien ruins on the Moon and we're going there to get whatever it is before the Russians do.

Either way, fun stuff.   :salute

Nooooo, there's Nazis that live on the dark side of the moon.  Everybody knows that.  That's why there's an arrow with an "N".  That's where the Nazis live.

The sign reads. "When the Great Fire God is hidden from the Lonely Man, Mother Earth will send an egg to the shores of the Celestial Guardian where the egg will be hidden from the hungry Fire God."

This is a warning to all that don't feed the animals or the animals will eat you.

I guess it's more of a blessing that more people don't know/remember that saying.  I'd bet that sign was put up a number of years after 1942, it reeks of cold war era.

When the Manhattan Project was founded in 1941, General Leslie R. Groves was put in charge and tasked with finding locations for the top-secret project.

The three main locations were Hanford, WA, Los Alamos, NM, and an area of farmland in East Tennessee which was later called Oak Ridge.

But during the war, it had no official name, appeared on no map and was ringed with chain link and security guards. Here in this "Secret City," over 75,000 workers toiled night and day at tasks which even they did not understand. It was not until the first atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, Japan, that their work was revealed - Oak Ridge's task had been refining uranium ore into fissionable material. Today, Oak Ridge is the home to the Y-12 National Security Complex and the Oak Ridge National Laboratory - two of the top scientific establishments in the world.

The sign is simple to understand.
