Annual Aircraft And Vehicle Service Date Updates
« on: May 22, 2012, 07:29:06 PM »
So put on your research caps. It's time to update HTC's Aircraft and Vehicle Service dates. :D

As a FYI, current service dates have been exhaustively researched and is one of the most accurate in-service lists on the Internet.  I've also heard rumors other sites use this list for their research, but that's just a rumour. :p

Service dates are actual deployment dates or active combat - what ever evidence we have they were in active squadron use.

I'm missing a few Jap planes a scout and two tanks.  If you have a service date for missing aircraft, you MUST reference your source.

And always, assistance is appreciated. :salute

A6M3
Storch
Panther
M-18
Me-410 (coming)
Typo on the f4u-1
- thanks 10thmd, I'll fix that. :salute

What I need for those are the Service Dates...(date they were active in combat or deployed for operational use).

Ju87D-3
Ju87G-2
Panzer IV D
Panzer IV F

I know the Panzers are the same unit in AH, but the loadouts can be limited to force it to be a D or an F.

I'd also put a note on the T-34/76 indicating that it is similar to earlier models and can be used as a substitute.

P-40F (MTO)   08/42 America's Hundred Thousand
P-40N (MTO)   04/43 America's Hundred Thousand

Don't think it matters.  The Fi156, as the only cooperation aircraft we have, will be used in place of not only earlier versions of itself but also in place of the Grasshopper, Lysander and Po-2.

According to German Aircraft of WW2 in Color, and confirmed by several online sources, the ME-410-A1 joined Luftwaffe units in January of 1943.

Interestingly enough, it was relegated to recon duties from the Summer of 1944 onward (with a cessation of production in September 1944)... I am not sure how this would/will affect its utilization in late-war scenarios.

Fw 190 D-9 in-service date is wrong with 12/44:
III.JG 54 converted to the D-9 at the end of 9/44 and was full strength in 10/44
http://www.ww2.dk/oob/bestand/jagd/biiijg54.html

II./JG 26 was the next group to receive them in 11/44
http://www.ww2.dk/oob/bestand/jagd/biijg26.html

The Ta-152H sounds like one month too early.
The La-5FN is too early as well as in 3/44 the prototype first flew. The 32nd guards air corps is claimed to be the first operational with La-5FN and flew them in the battle of Kursk. 5/44 sounds like a more reasonable date.
La-7: 6/44 is when the first La-7 were assembled at Moscow plant #381. 7/44 should fit better.
I assume the Panzer IV Ausf. H must be some kind of typo - they were built from March 1943 and not late 1944.

Are you sure you don't mean 1943, instead of 1944? The Battle of Kursk was in 1943.

As far a I can find, the 32nd GIAP first took the La-5FN into combat in July 1943 .

Ref: http://books.google.com.au/books?id=PN41wV_CiYMC&pg=PA13&lpg=PA13&dq=La-5FN+first+combat&source=bl&ots=y-HCTP-y9Y&sig=-4Ay8TZwgBOlao4qWwkoy5MeB2Q&hl=en&sa=X&ei=-tbXT5mzC6SiiAeYuJiNAw&ved=0CFgQ6AEwAg#v=onepage&q=La-5FN%20first%20combat&f=false.

First deliveries occurred either late June or early July.

Typo has bitten me again, for sure it should be 1943.
