I'd rather have the ridiculous roll overs fixed than the tank control interface.
If I had a gun with 3 bullets and I was locked in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, Saddam and Zipp...  I would shoot Zipp 3 times.

I agree that we need the option to go with a manual transmission.  The automatic sucks.  It also sucks IRL which is why my cars have manual transmissions.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

isnt there a key that only shifts up or down one gear at a time? this is basically a manual transmission.

Yes Tap W and you go in first "gear", although not effective as manual transmission - then again Manual Transmission is no different then what we have now - or any more effective at driving a tank.

Press S to drop down a Gear, W To raise the gear.

Not quite...

W and S basically give it more or less gas. Once it gets to a certain speed, it will automatically switch gears either up or down. Tapping the keys sets the speed you want to go, and the game does its best to maintain that speed by changing gears as necessary.

Perhaps the same people that are having issues with this are the same ones who think planes only have two throttle positions: firewalled or idle.  ;)

we still don't need an automatic transmission they were better with the old manual transmission and more realistic

Don't use a joystick for tanking, if its uncalibrated (or pedals) you continue to move, if not have the turret spin.

I use a mouse, no bouncing effect and extremely more accurate in long distance shooting.

What he said....I was surrounded by enemy tanks the other day, barely bumped a barn, was catapulted up on top of the barn like a bungee jumper bounced 3 times, then off the harvestores, landed upside down, killed 5 enemy tanks while inverted, because for some reason I could still turn my turret, then got killed by a dweeb I couldn't see.   :old:

I would have to disagree, depending on the sensativity.

I always used a joystick, but then set a bit of deadband to keep it from drifting around.
You started this thread and it was obviously about your want and desire in spite of your use of 'we' and Google.

Ive tried both, Mouse is much better/more accurate for most, of course it is personal preference however you do not need a joystick in any way to tank  :aok

My rule of thumb is if you're tank is sliding off a hill side or tumbling down to Earth.  You're not able to climb that hill. :P
