I have been using Firefox for a few years now, and recently it has been really glitchy. I check see if its updated, yes it is. I un install and reinstall, same thing. I pull up internet destroyer as a last hope of doing things, get a pop up something along the lines of "Internet Explorer has stopped working" and it gives me an option to close the program. When I finally ignore the message and it works, slow as mollasses in wintertime. Google Chrome I've heard is reliable, but I've also heard from a few places that they can report your website viewing to the Government. whether or not its true, not risking. I dont look at anything I shouldnt, but what I look at is my business, not anyone elses. One of my friends suggested Safari by Apple, doesnt work on my machine. Running out of options, and I will not last much longer with Internet Destroyer.

I did a scan with Malwarebytes and MSE, both turned up cleaned.

Just last week I had to do a fresh reinstall of everything. Drive crashed just as I was gonna restart the machine and make an image of C:  . Could this have anything to do with it?

You most likely have a hardware defect. Symptoms could fit either bad HDD or ram. Of course you cannot rule out a boot sector virus either. I'd try it with a fresh HDD and see if it keeps giving you trouble.

I doubt you have a HD problem.

Google will report suspicious activity regardless of what your browser is. I have IE Firefox Chrome Safari and Opera installed. I have not experienced what you have going on with any of them.

Have you tried Spybot Search and Destroy?

I have firefox too.  I have never had a problem at all.  never had a problem with ie either but dropped it for firefox so long ago that I dont even remember why.  the only time I will ever use IE is when I first reinstall windows and use it to download firefox.

only problem i have is that addblock no longer blocks advertisement on yahoo.  it does on youtube but not on yahoo for some reason.  I have had adblock so long too that I didnt know that youtube had advertisements  .

I dont think its a HD problem either. I think I have a drive going, as when its plugged in to the SATA port the machine is rediculously slow to boot, if it boots at all, but its a data drive so I'll play with it when I get to it. In a nut shell, Firefox isnt on that drive.

I havent had google report anything suspicious, then again I seldom ever use Google to search, and I dont use Chrome.

is Spybot like Malwarebytes/MSE? Havent heard of it, but then again I havent heard of spyware in ages so it has kinda slipped my mind it exists.

  I have had adblock so long too that I didnt know that youtube had advertisements  .

Had this issue a whiel ago when I was trying to do something. I forget what it is/was but I had to disable it. Couldnt remember for the life of me how to get to it to disable since I closed the toolbar at the bottom when I installed it

adblock click options> check everything on >filter preferences> uncheck allow non-intrusive advertisement

only reason i knew youtube had advertisement was because there was an update to my adfree on my droid x (it's rooted) and it played the advertisement as I didnt re-boot it.

Sounds like you have messed with ReadBoost maybe? Turn that nonsense off! Superfetch too if its running.

The only time I have trouble like you descirbe is when I have a deep level defrag going.

Not sure about Malwarebytes? Spybot Search and Destroy is supposed to block vulnerabilities. I have used it forever. They have tools to specifically identify issues that have already got your machine infected. I havent had that issue fo so long I forgot the details but I know where to go for help.

Listen guys, his problems started right after a fresh install. Install that he probably did due to earlier problems. Thats indicative of a hardware problem or as i said a boot sector virus

The only hardware problem I've had recently is a hard drive not being read and fudging my computer on start up. I unplugged it, no problems. Had the issue before I had the HD problems. I did the fresh reinstall because I kept the Blue Screen saying "Windows Has stopped working", upon the auto restart of it I get asked to launch start up repair or start normally. Neither worked, so I formatted C: with Acronis and did a fresh install.

There you go. You have a faulty HDD that's going to self destruct totally soon. They often start to act up

It sounds like your main hdd is failing. If your computer fails right after installation your hardware is going south - with the exception of possible boot sector virus. You probably didnt overwrite the boot sector when reinstalling?

Of course if both your drives are failing it may be ur mobo sata controller

The machine was good with the first install for 3 or 4 months. at least. How do I know if I overwrote the boot sector when I reinstalled? I did a format, that would delete it, no?

Any way to check my motherboard sata controller for failure signs just to be safe?
