DVI and HDMI are the same thing, unless they are different. On a television, they are electrically identical with the only difference being HDMI provides audio support and DVI does not.
On a computer monitor, the HDMI and DVI ports may not be eletrically identical as the DVI timing for a computer monitor is different than the timing for a television DVI port. Some monitors will detect what is plugged into them and switch the signals to match on the DVI port.
