I think the point is that he feels that the emergency responders did not recognize the symptoms of a stroke which seems a little incompetent.  The other point is that for some reason they had a prejudice against the man that made them think he was drunk, this seems unprofessional.  In case anybody doesn't know, if you have symptoms of a stroke you need to go to the ER immediately, it is good to know ahead of time which hospital has a stroke center as there are drugs that can only be used within a short time of the stroke.  I can only imagine how awful it would be to know that something is seriously wrong but to be dismissed by the professionals.  I think we have all had the experience of knowing more than an expert at sometime but being dismissed.  Imagine that it is a health emergency.

I'm sorry you had to go through that.

If that's the case then it's unacceptable but it's not an indictment on an entire profession.

Thank you for putting into words the thoughts that I couldn't.

Idk where the hell you guys live at but the fire fighters here (I was a volunteer here for a while before joining the good ol' USMC) make 30 - 32K a year and the chief makes about 120K...........
Like, ya know, when that thing that makes you move, it has pistons and things, When your thingamajigy is providing power, you do not hear other peoples thingamajig when they are providing power.

I hope you held them accountable for their actions. There is no excuse for not providing the best care possible. There are some on this job that have no business what so ever stepping foot on a truck. They usually promote to the top quickly.

I know that when I looked them in their eyes and told them the outcome, they had to live with that.

Thank you Slash.

I'm not very eloquent, thankfully pembquist could read through my gibberish.

I shouldn't blanket a whole profession as jerks, and others shouldn't blanket a whole profession as heroes is all I'm saying.

They should have recognized what was happening and that the stroke coming on could have resulted from the collision that smashed the table.
