point.

hockey (ice skating, handling a puck, shooting) , and polo (master horseback riders that hit a ball with a mallet while galloping around??)

If you've ever played hockey you would know trying to handle/shoot a puck while being hit is twice as hard as anything you may do in your life as far as balance, and hand/eye cooridination combined will be tested...

Major sports are extremely tough, I've played quite a few from golf, martial arts, football, soccer, hockey and baseball.

In my opinion, trying to hit a baseball is pretty high up there, lets forget little league where kids throw batting practice and only a fast ball, I am talking at least college level.

I went to high school world series and won in oklahoma, its a huge shock going from the typical 75-80mph pitcher to seeing some get in the late 80s and early 90s.
Then again my arm blew up being a closer my first year of college, I could throw easily low 90s which was only pitch i knew till I was in JV for one year where I learned a curve and change up.
As a hitter, forget that - any lefty facing a lefty knows the harder he throws the worse it gets, especially if there's any curve or angle on the ball. Don't think I hit over 300 my entire high school time.

Funny little fact:
Matt diaz of the atlanta braves was a catcher for my catholic high school, when I was in 8th or 9th grade? I was a JV player before changing schools to Lakeland where I was a varsity my sophmore year, any how the first pitch I threw
was I thought my best fast ball - until he put it 400+ feet dead center field over the fence, never gave up a homer until that pitch, not so fun when you usually strike people out and someone launches it like nothing.

Baseball really isnt, technique, to a degree, but its a very basic sport in contrast to other sports. I feel.

I totally disagree with this because hitting the ball isn't the single hardest part, it's much like Golf. You can't just pick up a golf club and know how to swing it with proper technique, a baseball swing is the same thing. It takes time to perfect it and move your body in the correct sequence.

I was going to say Dwarf/Midget Tossing but thinking about it more, success in that sport is more dependent on athletic skill and strength.  Sure, a fine knowledge of Dwarf/Midget aerodynamics is needed but brute strength can trump skill in that sport.

Sailed in an ocean race from Jax to St. Augustine.  32ft boat, IIRC.

Real sailing?  jib, mainsail, and spinnaker.
