+1 for dog pics :)

So Air warrior was superior tp AH?

Air Warrior was killed off simply because EA bought the company that owned Air Warrior, and did not want to be bothered with it. They bought the company in order to acquire other parts of it.

Hitech began in Air Warrior, and was in fact inspired by it. Air Warrior is the parent to the MMO air combat flight sim.

Excellent choice. I hath decreed I shall have no home devoid of Rottweilers.
Mine currently is. After losing my second one early I'm not sure my heart could take losing a third. I've never been so attached to a dog as I was my Rotts.

You might be able to find some downloads of AW2 and AW3, though I think they need Windows 98 to run.  I'm not sure if you can find AW4W (Air Warrior For Windows) that easily.  Air Warrior For DOS might be even tougher to find, though some of the old folks here might have a copy.

BigR has AW running on an old PC.

I should still have many versions of AW on the CDs, and a ton of old films, so if you can't find one, and want to try to get it running, I'll upload a copy somewhere.

It wasn't superior to what we have in AH2, as programming and technology have improved drastically, but it was quite awesome, and really opened the doors for what HTC created.

I just happened to look over at the book shelf. The Air Warrior III manual is there. I'm sure I have several versions of Air Warrior on disks stashed about. I have nothing running an OS old enough to run them.

Apples and oranges. AW had a different feel. There was no war to win. It had "relaxed" realism arenas (think of stall limiter ramped up) and "full" realism. The 1st time I flew "full" felt like the first time I rode a bike without training wheels. There was a Macintosh AND Windows version of the game in the mid-stages. A busy weekend evening in "Mac" involved maybe 40. There were plenty of furballs but the horde as you know it now, didn't really exist. The AW server/front end was programmed to dismiss the far majority of head-on shots.

In the end, EA raped ad destroyed the game Kesmai developed. Too bad, there was a lot of cutting edge tech...if you were around in the mid/late 90's to appreciate it. Some of the original Kesmai team (Blue Baron, Grey Eagle) used to attend AW Cons back in the day. Wonder whatever happened to -moggy?

Air warrior never played it... if it was that good it would be still here.

It was the first 3D graphical MMO, went live in the late '80s.  Great game that unfortunately died when the developers no longer cared about it and eventually sold it off to EA for it to wither on the vine and die.  The AW community was leaps and bounds better than our current AH community.
