Nose art help
« on: August 01, 2012, 12:32:15 AM »
Can someone here lend a hand converting and resizing something along with getting the proper transparency for some new nose art I want to use?

As much as I enjoyed my current nose art. Im feeling like its time for a change.

To re-size something without losing the details, it must be a vector image.

I believe that the transparency is 124 124 124, but I would check.

I think transparency is 176,176,176 :headscratch:

For some reason I had to delete my old nose art from the folder before the new one took effect.  This could be because I sometimes experiment and rename the original to test out my work.  Anyhow, squadees knew right away, when I told them that I was seeing the old nose art.  So, I suspect that I was not alone.

Remember always make a copy of anything that you plan to remove or  delete, and save it in a good place,  just in case.

Guys. I dont even know how to photoshop a picture.
What you just said might as well have been in martian. LOL

Maybe it would be better if I just showed you what it is

Its loosely based on my family coat of arms

Well, squad art is a 64 x 64 pixel image.  Transparency means that if you wanted just the shield as the noseart (without the black border or having a "square" noseart), the part of the pic you posted would have to be "transparent" so only the shield showed up on the plane.

Vector graphics are made of "paths" or "strokes" and a fast and dirty explanation is that is allows a graphic to be resized without changing the quality.

Example of shrinking your picture to the required 64 x 64 pixel size.

There are others on this board with way more skill than I that may be able to help you more.

Shrinking it wasnt the problem. The rest is martian to me LOL
But thats exactly what Im talking about. Only the shield showing without the black. And resizing without loosing quality.

No I dont have it done yet but would certainly appreciate your help.

Personally I think it will look pretty badarse and fitting on the side of a D9.
