Helmets and seatbelts are just government meddling with personal freedom. It's all a huge scam.

There's no fine. It's a repair order that will cause my registration to be suspended if I don't comply within 10 days. If it was just a flat, non-progressive fine, I'd keep the tinting on and live with the risk.

setbelts are only due to paramedics getting too lazy to go look for the bodies in an accident.  remember the guy called frog in the movie colors?  he was in an accident and got thrown something like 100 feet.

I myself got hit on the freeway causing me to crash head on with the center divider at 65 mph.  my truck flipped about 4 or 5 times.  only injury I had was on my shoulder when i tried to push the door open.

helmets and seatbelts are mandated because some people are too dumb to make the decision.

Down here there is no repair order. It would be a fine. Been there. Tint is easy to take off and put on. Spray it with 50/50 water/ammonia and back it with a plastic bag for an hour in the sun. Peels right off. Scrape it with a razor. Reapply. Lots of how-tos on youtube.

I usually roll all of the windows down if I get pulled over.  It has a tendency to make the LEO's more comfortable when they can see inside the vehicle easily.

I have not been pulled over, specifically for window tint.  I haven't gotten a fine, either.

My Brother-Inlaw does extractions for a local Fire Rescue team. You don't wanna be what he sees when you don't buckle up.

I failed inspection for tint and had to remove it to pass. That was a few years ago and now NJ just checks emissions
due to budjet cuts. But you can still get a ticket for it.

I say let it be a choice, rather than a law.

It will prevent the ones that cannot see the logic from whizzing in the gene pool.

The quality tint companies have a certificate sticker that is put on the B pillar near the car's ID plate.

It identifies the tint percentage or states legality.

i was involved in a head on. seatbelt let me get out of my car being pissed off. i was in a mistubishi that rolled over. the seatbelt let me get out pissed off. i think i'll keep on wearing mine.

they don't even check emissions on 96 and newer. they plug into the computer. no codes, all monitors set=pass. max 2 monitor not set from 96 yo 99. max 1 2000 to present.
their presumption is that if monitors are set, and no codes, then the car has clean emissions. i've tested cars after i passed them by the computer. nearly 1/4 of them would fail an actual emissions test.
