So I get home today and hear my mom yell "Chris, you got some interesting mail here.". I went to go get and read the letter and it was from Major General Stanley Hyman. Apparently, I have been nominated to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum on National Security in Washington, D.C. this spring. I am in NJROTC but other than that, I don't know how I managed to get nominated for this.

I got one of letters in the mail last year as well.  I live near the Udvar Hazy center so definitely do that.  I had no idea why I was invited either.  I am an Eagle scout I've done some other stuff.  But whatever.  I didn't go.

I was invited 2 years ago, my junior year in high school. Same guy and everything. I thought it would be really interesting to attend the conference on National security but i wasn't going to pay that much. The only thing i can think of that could have gotten me nominated was being accepted to Embry Riddle Aeronautical Universities Homeland Security Program. Strangely the same reason i didn't go to the conference is the same reason im going to a community college for my basics! $$$
