The suggestion was made that I don't live in "Reality", so I describe my reality..
The hardest thing I have ever had to do is deal with that.. Yes I have a grip on Reality..

I said cops have a tendency to beat women.. Some took offense to that, OK..
It would offend me too.. And the suggestion was made about lack of reality..

Here is some reality..
First, My sister dated a county deputy for about 5yrs or so.. He beat her occasionally..

Also, Back in the 80's, we lived in a nice Cul de Sac neighborhood, suburbs of the big city..
One of our neighbors was the owner of a well known strip club in the Area.. We became
friends, BBQ's Birthdays Holidays kinda thing.. Wifey and She became very close friends..
We were not part of the whole strip club thing tho.. The only time we went there was
invitations for birthdays.. But she used to unload on my wife about all the dirty stuff  that
goes on behind the stage and office.. Off duty police were worked the door, and providing
"escort" for the girls, on high dollar "Special Showings".. In short, the cops were pimping the girls..
So yeah, we have seen it ourselves, hot chicks with the cut lips and black eyes, and a cop boyfriend!

Seen em Smackin em around for kicks, drag them by their hair.. Like showin off..
And laugh about it, cuz they're cops.. So yeah, I do know something about it..

Do you think I LIKE THAT???

I HATE IT, wish it wasn't so..

You said "This is the reaction of an egotistical wife beater.. Pretty common among police..". So you know one police officer that may have assaulted his girlfriend.  Since this relationship went on for five years, and they were never married, I wonder why it happened more than once.  I assume that you did not witnesses any of the assaults, you were only told about it.  One in a hundred thousand does not mean most or that it is common.

As for the sex clubs, that is interesting, since most police agencies do not allow their officers to work side jobs at sexually oriented businesses.  If this was going on, did do anything about it?  Did you report these law breaking activities to your Sheriff's Department, if it was Sheriff's Deputies involved, did you report it to the State Police?  Is this a case that you know about it, but are unwilling to do anything about it?  Funny how you can come here and speak of all these rouge cops, yet you were unwilling to do anything about it.  If it is was that bad, a simple call to the media would have done something.  Even in the 80's they would have jumped through hoops on a story involving pimping cops.

Even by your own statement, " I HATE IT, wish it wasn't so.." it appears you did not feel it was important enough to make one phone call.  I guess it is easier to just come onto an open forum and gripe about it.

My Opinion, and again I don't expect you to agree or accept it.

Well, it is True that I didn't do anything about it, other than call the police when things got out of control in the street..
Police came, didn't do anything, things just went on.. Eventually they moved away, and we let the association die..
Later there was a RICO investigation in the papers involving the police.. I assumed it had something to do with that..
But we were involved with our own life, and didn't really pay much attention..

And a big part of a LEOs responsibility is to act professional and not let their tempers get in the way of them doing their job.

You don't see people with retail jobs attacking abusive customers.

Well said Rob...a police officer physically attacked responds physically up to, and no further than, the point the threat is neutralized. A police officer verbally attacked without any direct threat of physical harm must not respond physically.

Those are the hallmarks of a true professional police officer and anyone outside of those lines doesn't deserve a badge.  ...and yes, I speak with experience.

here's a news from a police department close to where i live.  this is a small city and they only caught 6 of them.  but it was well known that 1/2 the police department was getting freebies at this club.

not that the cops in that incident were totally within their authority with their actions but, the supposed "victim" was plain stupid. she was beligerent and confrontational, cursed at the cops and got out of her car, not to mention she was breaking a local ordinance by talking on the phone while driving. she should have just stayed in her car and did what the officers asked...she might have gotten off with a warning.

if she had the intelligence to use a hands free device the incident would never have happened.

pull over as much as ya can
roll down le window
turn of engine (anticipate a 30 min stop) so u won't be upset by how long it takes.
don't spit in cops face
stay in the car
don't reach for anything until they ok ya
keep hands visible
don't lie!

also if a cop sees a ring on your finger and asks "if u are married to your mother", don't respond with "no, but I'm married to yours". sure fire way to get slammed

Not sure what you are trying to show me.  OK, some Police Officers were caught having sex with some strippers, and evidently a couple were doing it on duty.  Long way from pimping them out while working at a strip club.

It looks like two of the officers involved resigned before they were terminated.  And the others received disciplinary action.  I did not read where any laws were broken, just violations of Departmental Policy.  Appears to me the Chief took care of the problem.

I don't think I ever said Police Officers were never capable of misconduct.  What I was stating earlier is, if you know about it and it is of a concern, then why not do something about it.

Again not sure what you are trying to point out to me.

Fred

he would take her and others to the police benevolent building to have sex with other officers.  money may not have been involved but that is still pimping.

The article stated one officer was screwing her at the Union Hall, and another officer ended up screwing her while off duty.  The article doesn't clarify whether it was at the Union Hall or another location.  The article stated only two officers were accused of having sex with her.  Sounds like the other officers just knew about it and didn't report it.

Just because one officer introduced her to another officer and call it pimping is a bit of a stretch.  If that is the case, then any man who introduces a woman to another man, and they eventually have sex is a "pimp".  Being a "Pimp" pretty much requires some money to be involved.

Seems to me the two officers were thinking with the wrong head.  Anyway, the problem was solved, so I really don't see the big story here.

I'll tell ya truth about myself..
Mine wanted to grow up to be like me, big tough soldier, now he is dead.. KIA 2004..
He had some early difficulties, but my council kept him in, when he was planning on
shipping out, before 9/11 and the "War".. Well, he got his stripes, now he's gone..
For nothing, absolutely nothing! Now I bear responsibility for that, for the rest of my life..

"If the truth Hurts, it is only because of what you know about yourself!"
I forgot who said it, but it is gospel..

sorry for your loss man. it was NOT your fault, and even as his father, you do not have to bear that burden. just remember him. he's looking down on ya 24/7 now.
