Boats

I've had it ten years, and owned it the past 5.  5 tons and holds 200 gallons of gas.  She is 24 years old, but sings like an angle.

I keep her about 10 feet from my office.  It gets down to about 45 during a 0 cold spell.

That's a damned nice toy ya got there Rash. But it'd take a small fortune to to fill it up with fuel  :lol

I want to share with you guys a boat that I'm proud of even though she's not mine. The F.D. Crockett named after my grandpa on my dads side, was build in 1924 by Alex Gaines and my grandpa on my grandmas side, John Smith in Seaford Va. The F.D.Crockett is 1 of only 2 log "buyboats" to be built on the Chesapeake Bay still in existence. She was used as a oyster and crab boat back in the day. I have a great uncle that quit school to go to work aboard her.
The boat was restored last year and now gives pleasure cruises and resides at the Deltaville Maritime Museum in Deltaville Va. She even has her own Facebook page!

Last year I bought into a boat with two other people.  It was May 24th.  I sold my interest on September 28th (or thereabouts) of the same year...for what I paid for it.

It was too much boat for me and the sharing concept, while sounding good to begin with, didn't work out.

We went out on a Cat style pleasure boat my sister and her husband bought and all of us got the "bug" again.  I may buy something small for next year by myself.

Boats are lots of fun but nearly as expensive as planes to operate.  But hey, you only live once.

Owned for the past 5 months.

Chrysler Mutineer.  15' OAL, 22'-8" mast, 100 sq. ft. main, 50 sq. ft. jib, 160 sq. ft spinnaker (when I get one), 400 pounds, 33 years old and doesn't use a drop of gas  :D

Gave her a face-lift when I got her.  (Nose-art on additional pics is a mock-up for now until this boating season is over)
