That's a damned nice toy ya got there Rash. But it'd take a small fortune to to fill it up with fuel  :lol

I want to share with you guys a boat that I'm proud of even though she's not mine. The F.D. Crockett named after my grandpa on my dads side, was build in 1924 by Alex Gaines and my grandpa on my grandmas side, John Smith in Seaford Va. The F.D.Crockett is 1 of only 2 log "buyboats" to be built on the Chesapeake Bay still in existence. She was used as a oyster and crab boat back in the day. I have a great uncle that quit school to go to work aboard her.
The boat was restored last year and now gives pleasure cruises and resides at the Deltaville Maritime Museum in Deltaville Va. She even has her own Facebook page!

That's just beautiful... :aok

Boats are lots of fun but nearly as expensive as planes to operate.  But hey, you only live once.

A friend of mine has a 20' or so boat with 2 engines and we worked out that the boat was about $70 an hour more expensive than the airplane. (Essentially twice as much)

Owned for the past 5 months.

Chrysler Mutineer.  15' OAL, 22'-8" mast, 100 sq. ft. main, 50 sq. ft. jib, 160 sq. ft spinnaker (when I get one), 400 pounds, 33 years old and doesn't use a drop of gas  :D

Gave her a face-lift when I got her.  (Nose-art on additional pics is a mock-up for now until this boating season is over)

I got a couple of boats, first is a 34ft Searay Express cruiser, it has a pair of 454 engines, with 500 hours each - great for cruising up and down Florida without any hitches, its great for touring.

My pride and joy is a 2000 Luhr's Convertible, with twin Cat Diesels - quite nice to sprint out 30 miles to the gulf current and do a day of fishing - its for sale right now (actually both boats are) - hoping to sell one or other (first boat was my fathers and the luhrs is mine)

Sorry for the crappy image, its actually a dealers photo, he hasn't listed all my photos yet.

I honestly don't want to sell the Luhr's, problem is I have it tied up in a channel by Fort Lauderdale, and I am over 4 hours away. Only good thing is I am renting a dock for only $150 a month, which beats my EC which sits in dead storage right now and I am paying $350.

EC is for sale, have it for 20k even, which is fairly good deal - except nobody has money to buy boats and secondly I have only 5 offers in a year now. Luhrs however everyone wants a tourny boat, except they won't pay me what I want.

As they say Boats are money pits. Searay is named Moonraker and the Luhrs I named "Das Boat"

Man I hope you get the boat, its certainly been the best thing I ever bought, in terms of "toys". I was fortunate mine was from a pissed off ex wife whose husband she divorced and she won the boat, didn't care for it and all she wanted was cash.

If I had 100k right now I would not upgrade to any other boat, I sleep comfortable on it, and it drives just fine.... and the Mahi-mahi simply hate my guts  :D
