Been over this SOO  many times.

Any FPS aspect with gamplay deeper than an arcade shooter (you run around town shooting other troops who die in pretty much a single hit) would require a MAJOR overhaul of the object modeling, and would likely cause a complete and total shift in the dynamics of the game. Essentially, it wouldn't be Aces High any more, it would end up being WWIIOL with fewer restrictions on what you use, and with better modeling.

We might need to take a second look at the ENY and perk system/values as well.

I guess you count HiTech in that group because it's been a long wish of his to add an player controlled troops to the game.


I'd like to see the addition of player controlled troops, it would be fun.

it would be very fun to have snipers in the trees waitting for you when you come walking up mainstreet in a town lol
or for a start HT could give our downed pilots a thompson 45 with a 50 round drum mag or 30 round stick mag for the fighters and the drum for the bomber pilots lol

I've seen functionality where your C47 carries a "commando" in addition to the troops who, when dropped within a certain radius of an asset, will start lobbing a limited amount of mortar rounds at the asset.

It would also cause a lot of idiots and twits to join, which could potentially destroy the community, depending on their numbers.

At the absolute MINIMUM, we would have to keep them off of CH 200. But they would spam country channel with stuff thats irrelevent to most everyone, just because they wouldn't know any better, or felt like being dicks.

They would spam the BBS with requests for more free stuff for them to play with. They would be the type to call out alerts to base takes, because they didn't get a chance to fight in the town.



TERRIBLE idea.
