Read the news, too. Microsoft offers a tool that should help, but the instructions and procedures are too difficult to follow for an average Joe, says e.g. Mr. Hypponen from F-secure (ranked in the top 50 of IT security specialists in the world). Installed the EMET on a customer's laptop with IE only, looked at the instructions and uninstalled, installed Firefox as default instead.

A browser is one of the most important part of a system and they can't stop it being fetled :)

My PC switched itself on three times in the night and my wireless keyboard went mad, I wonder if I was being probed? :)

There was also some unidentified devices in my device manager :rofl

i used Firefox but it also had problems so i switched to google chrome and never looked back

I have ghostery, adblock and world of trust also.  adblock is pretty cool. I didnt know that youtube had ads since I have been using it since forever lol.

IE is behind Messenger and other Live thingies, and I guess it also works with Windows Update. It can't be fully uninstalled.

I had the other day a message saying Security cert for a site called "go big daddy" for gods sake who is going to allow a cert for a site called that :)

If your PC is switching itself on at night shouldn't you turn off "Wake on LAN" in your BIOS?

just a question, how can i put the security settings on high if I dont use it or have it installed?
