There is a difference in Fishing and catching you know, part of the enjoyable aspect of fishing is figuring out what they are willing to bite on, not "outwitting" so much. Plus nobody kills a fish for dffun you eirther eat them or release them unless its an invasive species. Lost time  I killed a a fish I didnt eat I was 8 and had a bunch of m-80s...

Thats the thing I don't fathom. Why go specifically to catch fish, just to weigh them and let them go?. Kill it and scoff it is fine by me. But why torture it and then put it back?

Actually, I think it feels good to kill pests.  Like prarie dogs and for some people where I live coyotes as well.  ALthough I couldn't bring myself to shoot a coyote, I don't mind that we have people who do.  Otherwise the foxes here would be pushed out of their habitat.

We also have a nice side bonus associated with most people's aversion to shooting anything that looks like fido and that is exceptions to nearly every hunting regulation when it comes to hunting coyotes, their season is 24/7/365 and it's the only animal you can legally hunt in Iowa with a rifle.  I'm pretty sure it's also the only animal you can legally hunt with a crossbow as well excluding someone missing some of their fingers.

I don't know.........

I don't find any sort of pleasure in killing.....even pests....I do understand that sometimes killing is necessary, like an invasive species.

I don't understand the desire to kill that people have...hell man I should be one that enjoys it very much....yet I find it extremely.....not sure how to describe it....I guess the only way to say it...is it goes against everything I believe.... or more appropriately......everything I feel.

Because its an escape form the ole battle axe? Why be so arrogant and slam someone's culture? So you want people to keep every fish they catch? That would be beyond cruel as that would lead to extinction, or at best serious depletion of the fisheries.

You shouldn't need to ask such an obvious question.

Releasing a fish after catching it allows others to catch the same fish.  It also allows a lot of trophy sized fish to reproduce.
If I had a gun with 3 bullets and I was locked in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, Saddam and Zipp...  I would shoot Zipp 3 times.

bs best thing about fishing is being there all alone with nobody bugging you and drinking lots of beer.  that is very relaxing .  oh and I eat every single fish that I catch and is edible.

I am.not being arrogant, nor am I disparaging anyones culture. Simple answer is fish for what you need to feed yourself and family and then stop. I dont get why this is a strange notion

I dont see how its a strange notion for you to not worry about what others are doing, especially when nobody/thing is harmed you are basically telling people to not enjoy a freedom that is guaranteed,  just because ewe  sheeple on that side of the pond were lead around by  aristocrats that told you you couldn't fish to feed your family because that's THIER fish doesn't mean you should constantly spew your sheeple mentality  allover these boards, also  shouldn't you be trolling the fishing thread instead of the hunting thread?
