Darwin award Clinched

This is why mass shootings only happen in settings equivalent to 'fish in a barrel'.
If I had a gun with 3 bullets and I was locked in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, Saddam and Zipp...  I would shoot Zipp 3 times.

What is your point?

I work at a sporting goods store, kind of like a Dicks where we sell guns as well. Once in a while I think about the situation of an armed robbery in the store. It just doesn't make sense to me to do that.

My mother in law knows the family; the man was mentally ill and he wrote about his death before he visited the gun range.

He should of never had access to a gun, this was suicide by proxy. It makes the story a lot less fun to read knowing that though.

Meh, IMHO it just means he was too pathetic to off himself. If he was miserable, he should have just suck started a pistol in his room. Suicide is a terrible thing and I've experienced more than my fair share of it, but even though it's sad that one could want to die so badly; trying to hurt others before you do it is one of the worst things you can do. You'll only be remembered as that one idiot who ruined (or in this case: Tried to ruin) someone else's life.

seriously.....what did you miss when Del said he was mentally ill....that makes it far different then the typical scum wanting to hurt others.

Had he been adjudicated as a danger to himself or others and listed in a data base available to the store? I suppose by definition you could label anyone who commits a brazen and clearly illegal act as "mentally ill" as such act is not the sign of a "well" person.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."
