Plane Crash...

damn dude....where they all ok ? i only seen 3 of them out of the plane....hope they all made it. It seemed like he was having trouble getting airborne and then gaining any real altitude ....was the plane over weight ?

Possibly overweight. He had lots of opportunities to put it back on the ground. A 165HP Stinson isn't exactly the best performing machine.

No Les has a lot of Titanium plates in his upper & lower Jaw which will never come out, he has some facial numbness & can't tell when he's drooling. Yesterday he told he the yoke is bent to the left at a 90 degree angle, he fell out the Pilot's door & on impact his face hit the upper door frame as it smashed into the dirt. The wreck is still parked at Boise Airports AirCraft salvage lot.  
PS Pilot only one hurt out of 4.

He is well aware of his errors in calculating safety. If he had departed early am with cool denser air, he most likely would have had an uneventful flight home. It was warmer than normal, even though still early in the day.

She's decent light and low, but heavy and high....

Glad he came out of it OK and hopefuly learned something for himself and to pass on to others.

I've had 2 engine-outs when I flew 2-stroke Trike's many years ago, one because of contaminated  fuel, and the other because my passenger accidentally  applied full choke with her knee.

Both times I was lucky to get back to airfield as a glider.

Funny thing, after I landed one of the occasions, starting up engine again and taxied to hangar , I was stopped by the airfield boss expecting him to give me a 10 page form to fill in about the incident.

No, he thanked me because I landed deliberately without engine, thinking of residents living in the area close to the field

Well its a 108 which means max weight is pretty high. I dont think it was the weight at all. Seems like it, but I would loved to have seen the tach on takeoff and throughout the flight.


108 performs fine. This one did not.
