Midwar
« on: October 31, 2012, 09:20:04 PM »
I popped into the midwar arena to see what was going on in there cause I was bored with Lw map. The knights had 18 players, bish had 6 and rook had 3.  :rofl

I saw one of our bases flashing with no dar so I upped an m4 and killed the tank trying to camp the hanger. Then I upped an M3 and killed an M4 in the town. After they died they didn't come back. I noticed another base flashing and about 10 of the knights were attacking a knight base and me and the 2 other guys held them off for about 20 mins before we lost it. I've noticed though that every time I go in there there's a few certain people all on one team taking defenseless bases, one in particular biggamer. Is it really that fun to attack a base with no opposition? Even if someone ups, if they can't overwhelm you with there numbers in a few minutes they run off to a different base cause they might die and "hurt their score." Pretty lame.

It's exactly that what has happened before in early war, until that arena finally died off. And it's to a large part by the same people.

Midwar is good for nothing other than getting easy perks.

Half a dozen years ago the MW arena was just a few days old and had up to around 100 players there at prime time ;)

It's not only the Knight side, you'll see the same by all sides.  Also, from what I've seen of the G3-MF guys, yes, they will fly as a squadron and hit a single target but they don't run if the base is being defended.  However, there are a couple of Bish squadrons that are famous in the MW arena for solely milk running undefended bases and if a base is defended, move on to the next undefended base.  TonyJoey's squadron is famous for this, you won't find a squadron with more limp wrists in the MW than the Flying Furries.

when i fly the midwar i find it thoroughly enjoyable. same small group of people ive known or gotten to know over the years. while some of you might find hitting a defenseless base gamey, its a good way to start something. JG54 used to do it all the time in there. it would start a massive battle when people figure out what we were doing.

my suggestion would be that if you dont like people taking defenseless bases, then defend them. if you cant do it by yourself get people to help you. recruit from the latewar if you have to. defend those bases at all costs! chastising people in a arena, that you normally dont play in, is just not nice. get some friends go in and show them who's boss! if not, then just enjoy it for what it is, a fight that is against the odds, and see if you can beat them. thats the fun of it, isnt it?

#1 - we prefer that you defend
#2 - you upped a B5N and were merely bombing "defensless" M4s until another rook got into town with a panzer
#3 - you bombed my M3
#4 - I think you logged off.
#5 - yes, we fly as a squad and will fight anyone
#6 - we also do this in LW with the odds stacked against us.  If we don't get that base, we try again either there or somewhere else.  But be advised, it has nothing to do with a base being defended or not.
#7 - This is NOT a MW thing.  This is an AH2 thing.  We fly in the MAs and in FSO together.  If you actually check the FSO logs, you will see that we do rather well.
#8 - the fact that you are in the BBs talking about it indicates to me that we are doing something right.

Once again, I applaud your effort to stop us, but if you can't, we request that you bring your friends.  MW is a great place to fly (as is LW).  And if you think ENY is bad in LW sometimes, be aware that in MW, under those conditions, we faced ENY of 27.6 during that particular engagement.  We are used to the high ENY so it never really bothers us.

You can ask anyone that has flown with or against us.  We fly with honor and respect.

#1 - we prefer that you defend  Ya'll ran away after being killed by me in a tank at the first base I confronted you guys at
#2 - you upped a B5N and were merely bombing "defensless" M4s until another rook got into town with a panzer I saw no need to up a tank and drive all the way out there for you guys to run away again
#3 - you bombed my M3 See above
#4 - I think you logged off. I logged after ya'll brought a set of lancs, 2 mossies, at least 2 ostwinds, a 190 and 2 M3's to fight 3 guys.I upped a 190 to kill the lancs but was beat to them and I managed to kill one of the mossies before I got shot down strafing the 20 troops you guys had running. I tried to bring a brewster out to strafe them but the base was taken before I got back. So i tried to zoom climb up to the other mossie (who wound up being biggamer) and as soon as he saw me pull up he dove down to HO. I tried to pull away but was already starting to stall in the vertical so I held my nose up and got a quick burst off. He hit me with a few rounds knocking out my oil but otherwise pretty much missed a hanging brewster. I flipped around and gave chase as he started to turn around my engine gave out and he again Ho'ed me. Mostly all I saw was a bunch of skilless dweebs hording and taking the easy way out with shear numbers and avoiding an actual fight.
#5 - yes, we fly as a squad and will fight anyone That's why ya'll ran from the first base right?
#6 - we also do this in LW with the odds stacked against us.  If we don't get that base, we try again either there or somewhere else.  But be advised, it has nothing to do with a base being defended or not. I've quite honestly never seen you guys in the LW. I'm not saying you don't but it's probably due to the fact I don't fight against hoards in the LW.
#7 - This is NOT a MW thing.  This is an AH2 thing.  We fly in the MAs and in FSO together.  If you actually check the FSO logs, you will see that we do rather well. I'm sure you do quite well when you do nothing but hoarde
#8 - the fact that you are in the BBs talking about it indicates to me that we are doing something right.  I only brought it here to point out the lame behavior and the fact that there's not a soul willing to actually fight in the midwar other than the two guys that helped me.

I won't be back to fight against a hoarde like that. if I wanted to do that i wouldn't have to leave the LW. EVER.

You can ask anyone that has flown with or against us.  We fly with honor and respect.  If you want to call flying with odds at 16 to 3 honorable then by all means think that. To each his own I guess.

Idk, Biggamer and his squadron gave me some good fights there and in the LWMA too, they did not seem like twits.
