I want  to add that yesterday I took out a B24's engine and fuel  yet because i was in a hurricane MkIa  by .303 total damage as less than a guy that got a  quick burst with 50 cal  so he got the kill even though I crippled the B24 first .  I would like to see Assists rewarded in some way . Many times I've out flown a pilot only for the kill to be taken away at the last moment even though I worked hard for the shot's .

For those that say it is my fault for flying a crappy plane   screw you . I fly the Hurricane MkIa for personal reasons ; my grand farther worked on them in North Africa  . I love flying it and have some success with it.  I don't get to land many sorties but it's fun to take into combat .  Why should I be penalised for not having weight of fire that most other planes have even though my work load is greater ?  In the RAF kills were shared .

I don't think it works like that anymore, I'm not sure but I think it was changed to the first person to do critical damage gets the kill now.
No thank you Turkish, I'm sweet enough.

Well I butchered the  engines and fuel yet only an assist . I was the first guy on the B24 and had to break off  due to a P51 dropping on me .   As far as I can read it's not the first person to do critical damage .

Thats the point I Got the B24 in the position  where it became  a big flaming torch of fire from the engines and fuel .  If some guy in a P38 hadn't waded  in  after me it would have exploded by itself . He apologised for taking the "kill"  he was shocked he got the kill .

Its about the total damage done. damage stops being calculated after a critical part falls off. IE the whole wing. I dont think fire is counted as the plane is still able to fight and kill... if only for a 3 more seconds.

You also need to think about the guns in play. 303s are about 1/3 strengrh of a .50cal and 2-3 50s = a 20mm. So all the guns on the hurri did not = even the single 20mm on the P-38. Therefore he out did you in damage very quickly when the other 4x50cals are included.

Fish that's what I know happened to me . It's why i feel that you should get it announced how many assists  you had or even a small percentage of perks .

What were the airmen who winged with the guys who got the kills credited with in real life? I don't know if anyone was ever awarded any medals for 'assists'.

For the US pilots they got fractional kills.  Two guys together down a fighter they each got 1/2 credit.

I agree with this, otherwise we'd risk having players flying around just to ping everything in sight for the reward.

Even if all the noobs got 15+ assists just prayin in sprayin; (Which would be quite difficult)I don't see anything wrong with assists getting rewarded, if the noobs P&S then they get perks and up in the perky planes, and you get the kill because they are.. yes, a noob. So it goes full circle.  Not only that if it's .15 perks per assist, then it would be a game-breaking 2.25 perks for 15 kills.

For those whom are a decent shot or those "professionals" they get an assist they get rewarded for it because they might have gotten "cheated" out of their kill, like the one post above me.

If we have something to show we will & do post shots, if we have nothing new to show we don't.

I was ok with not getting the kill but  it's feeling that  as others get their names flashed up for landing 2 + kills  it makes it look like I've contributed nothing to the effort  after flying  an hour or more , whizzing around  actually defeating the enemy by getting home (when i can )  having only assist to my name  due to the weight of fire from friendly forces . It would be nice for other pilots to know what you  done for that sortie .

I enjoy helping out other pilots  be it clearing their six or being used as bait in my chugging hurricane .

Another thought to putting the name in lights as was remarked lol. Make it so that there is a minimum too like 3-4 assists before it posts so as to cut back on spamming the text buffer to much, just another thought on the matter.
