ID the a/c

On another board a member posted a photo of a recognition model owned by his grandfather who was posted in England. It has American ID markings as his g'father said it was an American a/c so he applied the decals to it.

It looks like a Ki-21 but why would such a model be in England?

Could be ("could" be... it's a very superficial resemblance) a B-10, though these were really pre-war. Except for the nose being totally different on the B-10.

Probably need to know more of the story...might have been kind of a joke.

Brits, in any case would need Japanese recognition models since they too were in India, Burma, Indo-China, etc.

So maybe there was a US captured Sally too.

My inclination was that it looks very much like a Sally, also. My B-10 response was in the mindset of assuming it wasnt a Sally.

So I'd say somebody just painted it (rather crudely) well after the fact.

AKAK has it right on Widewing's photo.  Baltimore.  Did some good work in the MTO with the RAF, RAAF etc.  Apparently it was a pretty decent performer
