I want to subscribe... but...
« on: November 27, 2012, 04:22:42 AM »
Hi, AH2 is great, I used my 2 week trial up a LONG time ago and played some H2H when it was still available. Apart from the lack of detailed cockpits in some planes, the not so fancy scenery and the unrealistic war scenarios where you can fly any plane you like (though there is the occasional historic event?) it is an effing great game. Also great with trackir.

So about subscribing... I have never purchased ANYTHING over the internet with a credit / debit card, but I have the ability, and I am really thinking about AH2. But it worries me (after doing some research) that AH2 will charge you automatically every month, I don't actually see myself playing AH2 every month consecutively, as I do get bored of games and take breaks etc, and what If something happens to me, like I lose my arms, legs, eyes, ears, and voice box in a horrific accident (lol?) and can't tell anyone to deactivate my account! Doom!

Seriously though, why can't there be a system that gives you the option of renewing your subscription? How hard is that to implement? Also is there anything that tells you if you are close to be charged again? I really don't want to have to deactivate my account after one month, or hopefully just before one month, because knowing my luck I will go over one month THEN deactivate my account, see my bill, then be like "WTF".

I'm not rich, infact, I'm poor. But I'm lucky to have what I have got. IS there a way to suspend the billing? (apart from deleting account) Also try to convince me to subscribe, I'm on edge, but one of the reasons I want to play is the fact AH2 is great and I'm desperately bored.

Thanks for any help...

Have you considered the Pre-Pay option? http://www.hitechcreations.com/HiTech-Creations/Customer-Relations/htc-prepay-form.html

I did the subscription thing about 5 years ago. Circumstances arose where I had to cancel my account. I've just recently come back and don't have any problems with the subscription service. For about 50 cents a day; I find AH to be a great value.

You are obviously not an adult, better check with you parents and ask them If you can have an account.  Anyone that asks others to "convince me to subscribe" should not be spending their money on an online game, especially  if they think of themselves  and discribe themselves to others, as being  “poor”.

Spend your hard earned dollars on an education and find a job you love.  Then after you reach adulthood, you will be ready to decide if spending fifty cents a day for an online game is something that you want to do.

Your best bet is to call Hitech Creations during (central time) business hours. 817.431.8840 - ask for Carrie if she doesn't answer, herself. She'll be happy to answer your questions.

In the past, HTC would give you an extra month if you prepaid 6 months in advance. Call Carrie, she'll steer you right.

One thing I wanted to comment on, as it is a common perception, is your statement about having never used a credit card on the internet.  Many people think that is a top security choice, but in reality the most common place to have one's credit card info stolen is at a restaurant when they hand the card to the waiter/waitress and it is taken out of sight to be run.

Of course you do want to be safe everywhere so if you use your card on the internet make sure the site is secure and routinely check your computer for malware such as keyloggers.

just pay the subscription fee and then go into the accounts area (first splash screen) and remove card details when it has gone through...that way it has nothing to charge next time round

You are obviously not an adult

I'm 25 years old, so what made it "obvious" I'm not an adult? Was It my grammar? Being Poor? Asking for motivation? I'll tell you one thing, 7 years ago my life was destroyed by doctors who diagnosed me with mental illness, they messed me up with meds, I'm doing fine, actually a lot better than other people in my situation, but I couldn't help but feel slightly offended especially since it was "obvious" to you.

Contact billing at billing@hitechcreations.com. They will be happy to discuss payment options with you.

I guess I will do that, thanks.

I don't feel this would work because the details would be logged serverside for billing not clientside?

just join, and when billing time comes, call and tell them not to charge your card.  I am sure they wouldnt charge it.  or maybe a prepaid credit card?? that way if you dont have the cash, its all on a prepaid.
