Get the DA back to Normal!
« on: December 12, 2012, 02:39:24 PM »
This ridiculous horse hockey in the DA, with everything enabled is totally ruining the Dueling Arena. I thought Temptards were bad, but these idiots zooming around in 262s spoiling everyone else's fights is enough. I won't stay if that's what I have to deal with now.

I thought it was kinda fun to zoom around the 262s, I dont play in the MA enough to get perks so I thought it was different, but not bad.  I noticed that the regulars that fly in the DA  also have no clue of how to REALLY fly them(myself included) but I think if they are to stay in the DA people will not use them as much as they were last night, kinda like a fad that dies out.  but thats just my opinion :D

The problem is that they are only enable for Rooks, no one else...it's Tiffs on steroids...they pick on people who are already engaged...away from others....they get to fights even faster than Tiffs, and on radar, you can't tell what they are...can't even be prepared.

All I can say is keep your SA about you bud, 262 has quad 30mm's meaning it will only take ONE ping from any one of his guns to kill any fighter in the the arena, psshh and people complain about my k4's single tater  :old:

Also: You may want to post in the bug report forum, because I am sure this is a bug they will likely have fixed in the next patch

Skuzzy says they're enabled...guess this is my ticket out of the game...not even worth 15 if they leave it. :(

In my year and a half in AH I've never seen Jets, etc. enabled? Why now?

No reason to leave the game, you can still 1v1 people in the canyons, you can still fly MA (some fights are as close as DA fights, no difference unless you use F3 mode), Mid war, Early war, train up in the Training arena, or hell - up a jet yourself and kill them all :t

I'd log in and help you but my account got locked today  :rofl
Oops, forgot to pay teh bills  :uhoh

Don't be silly.  Fly one. OR don't.  The DA will sttle down in just a few days.  I was always dissappointed that they were not enabled in the DA.  That is supposed to be the place to practice duels in isn't it.  Or at least practice dogfighting.  Always amazed me that one of the most difficult planes to fly was never there before.  Have you flown one?  They aren't easy to get kills in against good fighters.  Are you a good fighter pilot?  Then pay attention and avoid their easily avoidable moves.  OR don't and leave over it.
Wag more, bark less.

How to kill in a 262:

1. Point nose at enemy plane in a merge
2. Fire at 1.0K
3. Pull up
4. Watch him fly into your bullets at exactly 800 yards.

Try it if you're feeling risky. Always works for me.  ;)

the game is concentrated on combat, not on shaking the screen.

I did not say they were enabled.  It was an error for them to be enabled and I already fixed them.

I've used this tactic to limited success.  When driving headon into an approaching enemy while flying a 262 you will essentially ALWAYS face an enemy that will HO you. (including the ones who "will never HO", they seem to make an exception to their own rule in this case).
Occasionally when in the 262 it may make sense to lob a short burst while slowly pulling up and away out of the headon situation.  I say occasionally because this is certainly not a good tactic.  Your adversary can change his direction (AoA?) far quicker then you can and is in all likelihood firing at you with zero regard for his own personal safety.  I use this tactic when I find myself in an unexpected merge, which is usually  a result of me screwing up.  It is less an attempt to dissuade the attacker from a HO (it wont) but to hopefully knock a threat out of exsistence, or more likely force him to adjust his tactics in a way that better suits me.
