Funny I think TT is surrounded by like 50k foot mountains...and there is a il2.flying around in it right now lol
that was probably me.
I loaded up the bombs, 4 rockets, the 37mm's, and %75. It took me what seemed like 3 hours and 8 mins to get to 13k to get through the pass, but once I did I had a great time. Once I made it to the battle field I dove down at high speed and surveyed the battle lines. I saw an enemy Panther and figured I'd try mu ch with the bombs, I line up and dove in for kill #1. The next pass I found a T34/85 flaking to the water side and putting my comrades on the ground in danger. I dove in and line up and fired all four RS-132 rockets... score! I tracked the T34/85 well enough to keep him immobile and allow my comrades on the ground their chance to flank him. Ords gone, I grabbed some altitude to check damage and fuel (I took a lot of MG fire but no dmg to the hardy IL-2). Back on my perch I see 10+ tanks rolling towards a lesser number of allied tanks. Thinking I'll get back in to the role playing thing, I like up on a Pzr IV for a 37mm run. Pop goes the weasel. Not once, not twice, not thrice, but 4 times I was able to line up on Panzer IV's and pop their turrets off their hulls like the head of a dandelion off the stalk. A quick check of ammo and I still have 40 rounds of 37mm left, but alas just then I get raked by a sneaky Wirblewind and I get a radiator hit. Knowing my time is short I turn back towards V99 to hopefully land my kills for the Mudderland! I get wheels down and the engine cuts out, luckily I had enough E to roll on to the main pad and land my 6 kills. Total time in the air: less than 20 mins. Total time over the battlefield: 5-6 minutes. Yes, a loaded up IL-2 takes awhile to climb over those mountains.
Greebo did one heck of a job with this map. A huge thank you to him for breathing new life in to AH for a lot of players! Now... can we get you to build a desert or snow map for the MA?
