So there I was flying fighters in aces high seriously for the first time ever. I dont want to shock anyone but some people managed to shoot me down. They actually managed to shoot me down on almost every mission where I didnt want to get shot down. Anyways I was doing the escort thing because weve got some heavies coming in to hammer the air defenses at airbase a1. Theres a badguy P51 about 2.0 below me who sees Im really fast and pulls the ss assuming Im going to make my gun pass and overshoot horribly because Ive got smash coming out of my ears. I did a smart thing George so tell me about the rabbits. I cut the power then ssd to match him and was lined up like Tiger Woods as he was zooming after his ss. Dont worry Im not senile yet he was the highest badguy in visual range and at least 5.0 above all his pals so the power reduction wasnt suicide, right? Anyways the damn heavy AAA gave me away and he ssd again as I was closing from 600ish to the 500s. I was in an N1K and the guns were harmonized at 250 or so so no shooting I just zoomed back up to my flock up there. And this got me thinking, so everyone may want to DUCK right about now. Maybe make it so if someone sets up a strike mission anyone flying an escort assignment on that mission gets a percentage of the perk points the strike guys end up with. Not alot of points really, but this P51 didnt give a damn about protecting his airfield, so he didnt press the intercept. Now if perk points are about motivation and maybe they arent and I read things wrong, theyd give motivation to guys to fly a real escort mission, like I did. Well, I did because I knew that if I went below 7.5 or so I was going to looking at some bad bad numbers and I was trying to actually land at the end of one of my sorties on a friendly runway with the gear down and without any of my blood outside of my person. But you guys get me? Make it so if guys fly a good escort sortie they can get a little pat on the back. Perk points are adjusted by your living or dying, right? Maybe make it so the strike guys can give some perk points to escort guys on a mission after they land. One more thing. Your own AAA should kill you if you get in the way. Ive seen tons of guys practically hovering in clouds of prox AAA detonations. This is not a good thing in real life. I realize its a game. I realize I dont know this game well. What do the guys who do know the game well think about worrying about your own AAA fire? Be nice here. Im an admitted amateur weenie FNAHG thats funny new aces high guy.
