I found this to be extremely interesting. I'm very surprised that only 2 fly worthy Lancs are in existence today...and only 1 of those is in Britain. That's a shame.

The extraordinary bravery of the young men that took part in these missions, I can not begin to imagine. I especially enjoyed the interviews with the actual crew members. Watching their emotions pop to the surface after so many years when they speak about their experiences ...............wow I'm so grateful I've never had to go through such a thing.

Thank you for sharing this documentary.  :salute

If you don't "do" plays, this may not be for you, a bit slow and quite strange, however worth a look if you've got an hour, about a traumatised BC crew:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y3qQhxEYM-c
... missions were to be met by the commitment of alerted swarms of fighters, composed of Me 109's and Fw 190's, that were strategically based to protect industrial installations. The inferior capabilities of these fighters against the Mosquitoes made this a hopeless and uneconomical effort. 1.JD KTB

I wish I had time to watch it all. New found respect for Mr Ewan McGregor. As for some of those eyebrows, haven't been trimmed since the war either.

Maybe this weekend I'll try and get through it all.  :aok

not many people are aware that theres actually another lanc over here which is being restored to flying condition, privately owned and a long term resto, its just taxying at the moment. cant wait to see it flying in formation with the BBMF lanc :aok

i watched it all as was very disapointed that scant time was given to the crews of the other outstanding British bombers.
After all, the doc is 'Bomber Boys'...not 'Lancaster Boys'...yes?
