If it's not your money go for it. When I started doing my build, there were threads about mixing amd with nvidia and they didn't play well. If they were 50 dollar cards, I wouldnt say anything but not with platinum cards.Midway
I'm echoing what Bighorn said. If I was building a workstation at that level, I'd go with Xeon's, ECC RAM, and a higher quality P/S.Also, perhaps a RAID card.
hmm, bad choices...Xeons with ECC memory is a must, so is dual high quality power supply (Rosewill it isn't). If you have to run large amount of monitors, than something like nvidia quadro plex is a better choice (or at least quadro 6000)What kind of graphic artist is that friend of yours? S-IPS wide gamut panels would most likely be better choice. Which graphic pro works on TN displays anyway?
