I respect many of the MA players, and enjoy my time flying with you.

I don't, I think they're all a bunch of ploppy heads who run away screaming like little girls when they lose their advantage.  :neener:

If it weren't for Fudmukker, nrshida and Rollya RedBull might have gotten bored and left.

^ That is very, very accurate

I agree with you to a point coppr, however I do not think ranking would be the way of going about this, I think the first thing we'd need to do to get the DA rep improved vastly, quickly, and easily is remove F3 view  :aok

I hate to admit it, :cry but I was one of those exclusive DA F3 guys for the first year that I was with AH. I came from an arcade style "Aerial Combat" game that taught me nothing except perhaps BFM. I was Green as Grass. I tried the MA Late War on my first day as a paid subscriber. Ruuuuuudddeeee Awakening!!!!! So it was the DA for me. One of the buttons on my stick when depressed put me into "F3" mode (had no idea you could map buttons). So I stuck with it...........bad idea!!!!!!! I got lots of help and made some friends and got more help, but I couldnt kick the "F3" addiction, I liked making impossible shots in my Tempest. I knew that I had learned about as much as I could flyiing outside the cockpit, and one day in 09' decided to leave my squad, change my name and really give LW Main a try. Man I got Kicked over and over again. It was perhaps 3 weeks before I actually got more than one kill in a single sortie. There was no going back.

Four years later my oppinion of the DA has changed substantially.

The average (not rank) MA pilot has sooooo much more to contend with than the average DA pilot, and in no way amy I dissing the quality of sitcks flying there.  The OP is asking for ranking (I see no real need for it), but has not IMHO taken many factors into consideration. F3, ENY and Perk Rides have already been discussed.

Because someone is unwilling to fly more then 15 miles to find a fight is not a valid reason to "Rank" the DA. MA pilots must contend with: (its a long list) upping from a capped field to defend (LOL it does happen) GV's on or near the field or town, CV's parked close to his base (damnned dreaded puffy), CV's shelling his base to shut it down, the Dreaded Horde inbound to his base, Radar down, Ords disabled, Bombers hitting his field,  The list goes on and on.  For this he is given the reward (sic) of having and improving his or her Rank, which is broken into 4 distinct catagories with some having sub catagories. (some would say this is gaming the game too).

I am in no way condemning or condoning "Score Whoring" It is what it is. Im not saying that there arent good sticks in the DA I know there are. I am saying that Ranking in the DA is kind of pointless as there is only Furballing happening there, on the lake at least.  As long as F3 is enabled in the DA, you dedicated DA'ers will never get the credit you so desire and for some perhaps deserve.

Now if its "Pitting your skills agains some really fine sticks in a furball setting" that youre looking for you may want to check out KOTH, some of the best sticks in the game are regulars in there, and if you can beat some of them then my hat is off to you.

If its close, accessable fights youre seeking, try the AvA, Weekly changes and historic plane match ups for the most part and some very fine fighting at times (remember no enemy icons in there).

^^^^^^ THIS

Very nice, couldn't have said it better myself Carver :aok :aok On every point

I very very much encourage everyone to try KOTH as well, it is the best Special Event in Aces High just under Scenario's and on par with FSO IMO guys.

ALSO......I believe perked planes should either also be perked in the DA and/or only usable from the 1v1 fields....Granted the temp guys could still fly all the way over, but I imagine this greatly reducing the number of Temp BnZ guys in the DA! Just food for thought  :)

I'm all for eliminating F3. As for the rest I understand. My opinion of the perk rides in there is that they're already flown, and frankly I don't care what planes people fly. If everyone has the same chance to fly them they can and will. We deal with Temptards on a daily basis. If you can't beat them in the DA...how are you going to beat them in the MA? The ranking is forDA only, what does it really matter if we don't deal with GVs, manned ack or flying for 20 minutes to get in one 4 minute( if you're lucky) fight? The odds are much greater that you'll meet with someone who blasts through Hoing you, and you still don't get a damned fight. THAT is what I see mostly in the MA. You have to LOOK for a fight in the MA...come to the DA, you won't have to wait for a fight, and the MAJORITY of DA pilots aren't going to run away from a fight..I know I don't. This change wouldn't effect the MA or the MA players one tiny little bit, and I've seen very few reasoned objections to it. Mostly what I've seen is typical MA snobbery and truthfully what seems like fear or jealousy of the possibility that DA players might be considered equals in their own right. If you guys think you are God's gift to the game, get your candy behinds in there and let us open a can of WHOOP-behind on you! (Apologies to Steve"Stone Cold" Austin for stealing his phrase) Skuzzy, I'm just using a well known phrase that appears on public TV regularly. PLEASE don't punish me...well...you could spank me a bit....hehehehe
P.S Danged text police...oh well you guys get my drift...

I guess it's safer to stay in the MA and HO everything that comes to you...

 :headscratch:

In my experience, there is as much or more ho'ing, picking, and ganging going on over furball lake.

The very first time I ventured in there was because I was having a terrible run of luck in the MA... figured a more gentlemanly fight would help me shake the bad mojo.  Wrong.  I'm not talking about targets of opportunity at the top of a loop.  Most I ran into seemed to be maneuvering for the HO from 3k+ out.

Meh.  It's good for practicing SA if nothing else.

Triton you do get that in the DA at times...is it any different than trying to up from a horde capped base? There are plenty of times that you can come into the DA and get your gentlemanly fights...look for any of us in the 133RAF Eagles, try early morning if you're up, or around 4-6 PM EST those are better times for more "intimate" experiences. There are times when the furball is fun, but I've always preferred 1 on 1s or 2 on 1s. Ask nrshida, RedBull, Rollya or a few others who come into the Breakfast Club. We get on a cross country vox, talk with each other, exchange ideas, get tips and generally have a great time.

HEY SKUZZY! Would you please impart your opinion on this? It doesn't seem that it would take an enormous amount of work on your part and I'd like to know your take on the subject!

I'm thinking it's more along the line of what Hitech wants not so much Skuzzy.  :aok

As for flying in the DA, been there did that. HOs, gangs and kill stealers.... much the same as in the MA. You want rank? I say come to the MA and see how you far against the other 2-3 thousand players that fly there. Whats the big deal about being top dog of 25 guys in the DA?

Disclaimer: I have no concrete knowledge of any subscription numbers. All numbers in the above post were pulled out of my....  well you know  :D

Fugi, please give the DA another chance...and I'm ranked somewhere around 1124 last time I looked. I've been as high as 975. I don't claim to be good. The thing is that many of you who've posted derogatory comments about us, I've not ever seen in the DA.
DOLBY I wish you'd come in more, it's the only chance I get to fight you. In the MA I would rather team with you and gain knowledge and have the support. If more of the MA players were like you and those in your squad, I'd live in the MA
