There are websites like taskrabbit where people post jobs that they need done, such as helping someone put together some furniture, building a fence etc... Its not full time employment but it could be used as supplemental income.

Try selling some stuff you don't really need/don't use any more. If you have a bike in the garage that's just sitting there and is unused you could probably sell it for a hundred bucks or so. You could also try looking for odd jobs and such on Craigslist, Local newspaper and maybe in a few shops around town. It might not be the 30 grand you need but it'll help.

Got any old or unwanted gold? Go to the local pawn shop, or sell it on the internet. Got any old electronics like computers? Sell it. Got any scrap metal/unused lumber? Sell it. You can get quite a bit for that stuff.

Any golf courses nearby where you could caddie?  It's a perfect job with no set schedule that pays OK.

If you can swing it, they are screaming for both skilled and unskilled workers in the Western Australia mining industry. I know its a bit far away but its very good money, enough that you could pay to fly back to the US 1-2 times a year without much trouble if you land a good job.

Quote
WA Mining jobs
There are examples of professionals with years of experience and skills from unrelated industries changing their profession to reap the benefits of larger salaries. With the right information you can basically just walk in off the street and the mine companies, such as Rio Tinto and BHP Billiton will offer you a job and train you. Good salaries for mining jobs WA no experience, can pay $1,200 – $2,000 a week. The average salary in the mining industry is currently about $90,000 per year.

All the mining hot spots like Gorgon Gas Project, Karratha, Port Hedland, Mount Isa and Kalgoorlie are facing massive workforce shortages. The unskilled labour shortage has been so high; that the Australian Government has in the past ran a pilot program offering $5,000 to unemployed people to move to Western Australia to take up unskilled mining jobs. The pilot program was the beacon of Western Australia’s mineral wealth and prosperity. If you are looking for a career in mining in WA and live outside of the state, then the WA government’s site migration.wa.gov.au is worth a visit.

Individuals looking for mining jobs with no experience or skills can often work alongside experienced miner workers as assistants or they can choose to opt for cleaning jobs, kitchen jobs or catering jobs.

Now there was a slowdown in that industry last year but China is starting to grow again and the mines are picking up too.

Also, try debt consolidation, if it's really THAT much it will be very worth it.

Invest in the Dave Ramsey total money makeover course.  You generally buy the workbook and study materials, and the classes are "free".

Of course, he'll probably tell you that if you're going to go bankrupt over a house then you should get a smaller/cheaper house.  But maybe his money management course could help out some.
Everyone I know, goes away, in the end.

What are you good at? Any family members with connection? Are you college/school right now?

Education first, worry about the money second. If your dad is a true dad, he would want you to pursue your goals and dreams. Get the education, find a nice job, and you'll be better off than working at a crummy job for the rest of your life.
