"muppet pass achievement"
This move is as old as dogfighting, but the first time I ever heard it named, it was called a "muppet pass."
Enemy overshoots player, player shoots and kills enemy before any next maneuvers.
Only way to register it, I suppose, would be if overshooter first pinged the player.
Two planes: dodobird and muppet.
so, if Dodobird pings Muppet, and then within 10 seconds, Muppet pings Dodobird, and gets credit for the kill of Dodobird, then it's a "muppet pass" achievement.
Maybe have it declared even after 10 seconds if say Dodobird lost a whole wing or whole tail, but didn't bail out for more than 10seconds later. So somthing fatal within 10seconds would award the achievement.
I witnessed Grizz (in a 262) do this to Drbone (in a La7) a year back or so. Wizer may have been there, not sure. Neither of them reffered to it as a "muppet pass" though heh.
A few of us were trying to land, not sure who had killed DrBone earlier, but he had come back in an La7 after the 262!
It takes a heck of a lot of Situational Awareness and coordination to guage where the enemy is going to be and line up nose to that vector to hook him as he goes by... not easy. You're looking out back window, and guaging where he's going to be in your front window, then see him out side window... etc... then fire and boom.
Ten seconds is probably too much time, it happens faster than that... You guys be the judge? five seconds?
