Ding ding.  If I know I'm going round for round vs a T34 at 2000+ yards, I have no fear if I'm in anything with good optics and good armor.  The T34's have the worst optics in AH and rightfully so.  At 2000 yards the T34 can't tell where the rounds are hitting and the adjustment of fire is not easy.

Also, keep in mind the HVAP is jack squat beyond 1200 yards.  Any advantage it had due to velocity is lost thanks to its low weight and plummeting kinetic energy.  Oh, and I think the T34/85 would indeed be perked without the HVAP thanks to its speed and armor.  Also, the T34/85 has the fastest turret twist rate of any tank in AH.

I dunno, the armor has never really helped any of the ones that wander into my cross hairs. And it's not like I'm constantly in a Panther or anything. Granted it helps against those who neglect to aim, armor could be said to be idiot-proof more than foolproof.

Speed is a valid point, although not really a direct advantage in combat.

As for HVAP, I'm convinced "most" combat takes place within its effective range.

I guess it might just be that I have a lot more experience than the average AH tanker, but the T-34 has always seemed kind of mediocre.  Especially since I learned to shoot at range.

Ha! I always love that! I have a collection of PMs, some of which the only answer you can give is "what do you want me to do about it?" hehe

Gotta love those miracle shots. Closest I've come is killing one while me and 6 others were charging him. He turned his turret right as I fired, slammed into his side.

t34 has an advantage against 37mm field guns at equal ranges. panzers are toast quite easy, t34's need to be hit in sweet spots/angles.

of course a 37mm field gun isn't going to drive out and hunt down a tank.
