Ki-84's and extreme diving...

Actually the Ki-84 was not so strong body because Nakajima designed it a lighter.
Also it had "nose up" effect to avoid disintegrating in midair when it tries a high-speed dive.

According to army Ki-84 manual, a dive speed limit of Ki-84 was 750km/h (446mph).
But, IJAAF pilot reported it can dive at 850km/h (520mph) without breaking up.
It seems the manual's dive speed limit has a margin, so it may be tweaked higher in the game.

I remembered that Mr. Busa said he might send a information about it to HTC.
Currently I have no contact to him though.

I think the 84 we have in game is overmodelled as it is, much like the Dr1 was f4u4s have trouble doing what it does in the vert

in all the time I have in the KI I have had pieces come off 3 times....all in the very early days.

if you are doing that kind of speeds in the Ki.......you are doing it wrong.

Been flying the Ki for about a month now nearly exclusively and had similar experience to Ink i.e. shed parts a few times because I was going way to fast....figured out it wasn't the plane's problem but mine....stopped trying to fly it like a 109, reduced speed and (surprise surprise surprise) started killing things!   

BTW Ink....anytime you are free to impart some of your secrets in the Ki I'd be happy to be your devoted Padawan,O Master Jedi.  And by padawan I mean a respectful-non-whining-like-the-brat-who-played-Anakin padawan!

fix the tail and '84 should move up to the rank of 5-ENY's.

it does not shed parts at 450.....I have thousands of hours in it, pieces come off at a little over 500 right around 505.

Actually there isn't any single speed at which control surfaces come off. A very simple test shows that the speed at which things start to break varies randomly.

Hmmmm....I don't remember a tail hook on the N1K2 (tho' I fly it so seldom it could be there for all I know)  ....guess they didnt really have any CVs by the time it was introduced so why bother!
