i remember one time, when quite new to the game,
i had 3 kills and a busted up plane trying to get it home..
i was chuffed to bits with my 3 kills..but the engine died on me and i was gliding home , hoping to make it ..
i glided a fair old way and had the field in site and was coming down but misread the set up..
the field was in a hollow and the ground was rushing up to me..all I could see was hill...and the dreaded trees
i thought `oh well..i`ll have to land it...`
So I put it down and trundled to an almost stop .. right on the edge of the hill over looking the field...
so with some heafty rudder action i kept my momentum going and started to roll down the hill..
i trundled down this hill thinking..no ferkin way...am i gonna make it..
i rolled to a halt at the bottom of the hill...wheels on concrete...`woot woOT`
epic..
dont know why it sticks in my mind the way it does but it does..
had plenty of other epic moments... but for some reason the joy and disbelief it could work out when all look lost gave me a top Buzz..

its also impressive that you survived long enough to jump the hill with those 30 spawn campers shooting at your jeep. jumpin gover the oblivious t34 spawn camper as he is fixated on the spawn is classic too.

I like all the tank shells flying from every direction throughout the video and the bomb**** planes overhead lol.

I think you are getting hooked on breaking out of spawncamps in vehicles the same way you like to fly low n slow into red clouds of airplanes :D

You should have seen what I did after this. I wasted 1800 vehicle perks upping a King Tiger and driving straight towards the rook spawn shooting at anything I could. Rounds were pinging everywhere, I blast about 3-4 of them each go. I had a chat with a friend who was on the rook side watching this. Supposedly it was just as much fun for them as it was for me. People were shouting "Kill it! Kill it!" Wizzy was apparently in hysterics. The one down side to all this fun is I don't get to hear the reaction from the other country.  :lol

I have two most memorable sorties: #1 being my first FSO flying with G3MF I think we were VF-115 Satans Playmates when this happened. It was a Russian setup and we were in P-39's defending some airfield. I was winging with NAVCAD who I flew with in the Dirty 30 squad in earlier years. Anyways, here came the 109's as a fighter sweep and we pushed through them to the attacking 110's. NAV was lined up on a 110 when two 110's came thrashing over me firing at him. I just pulled the trigger and shot down both of them. I was very happy because in my very first FSO I had shot down two 110's then for the next three FSO I don't even think I touched a plane because I was blasted from the skies!

#2 Would be the DGS II Scenario in Frame 6. I remember this frame because it was my first time leading a group. I was the XO to Redtail7 who was commanding our group the 355th FG P-51's B's/D's. He told me that I would lead the last frame. So when we got our orders for that week I spent the whole week planning our fighter cover scheme. I don't even remember our target but anyways I had my guys in position and I had personally put Red Flight and myself out front. When the fighters came in all hell broke lose. We had 190's, 109's, and 410's everywhere. We got the bombers to target and I even helped clear one of my G3MF friends six of a 190. I was congragulated by Redtail7 for a job well done and that I should be GL in the next scenario. In frame 6 we shot down 16 Luftwaffe aircraft to the loss of 7 of our own. It was hard work leading a group and being a first timer to that I was very impressed by the 355th.

Any and all 100+ participant HQ raids. High altitude, lots of bomber formations.

Hard to beat that.

During my first full tour in the MA I managed to kill five GVs with a single 1800kg egg from a Ju87 in two straight sorties. I don't think I'll ever be able to top that
Did a few NOE HQ raids with FBCrabby back in 2011 that were amazingly fun. The one where I smacked a tree a sector from the HQ wasn't as fun though lol

My most memorable sortie was during the Longbow scenario in AW.  I was a gunner in Spiff's B17 and while over Germany we had been attacked numerous times.  We were on our way back to England, Spiff nursing the badly damaged and smoking B17 all the way, determined to make it back and land.  As we flew, I was looking outside keeping an eye open for any LW planes chasing us.  After a while, we were spotted by some patrolling Spitfires (dead pilots could have a second life in a patrol Spitfire as long as they didn't cross the channel/North Sea).  They escorted us back to England, flying around us the whole way.  I remember looking out at them and getting a very real feeling of 'being there'.  A lump came to my throat and tears welled in my eyes as I looked out at the circling Spits, the immersion was so great!  I really felt extremely relieved when we made it back and Spiff finally landed the B17 on British soil.

My uncle, who died early last year, was a rear gunner in a Wellington bomber and it is in his memory that I will continue to remember this brief moment in time in an online game....   :salute
