The OP is reconsidering the sanity of expecting reasonable communication and interaction through this medium I should imagine.

and possibly the best, forum contributor's good name ("Badboy") can speak to a decline and negative sentiment to some.
I tend to overlook such moment(s) of weakness and ignore most of the irrational rubbish that gets thrown about, unless, of course, if it involves my good name and requires a proper defense. Otherwise I focus on the good, the value add, those that are phenominal contributors, such as Badboy... among others.
If you want to see awesome posts, then compare and contrast the above link to the treasure chest that represents Badboy's posts... the awesomeness of Badboy's "value add" to the forums will stand out immediately. Take a look at this animated gif post of Badboy's as an example:

One must learn to appreciate the good and the very best and forgive and ignore the false accusations and "gotchyas" and other such disparagements to see the real value in this forum. I see great value in the forums... others do as well and I see no decline. It all depends on how and what you choose to listen to in this forum and in life in general.
